Irctc — Regarding Blunder in ticket booking

Recently I tried to book a ticket through Internet at the railways website IRCTC Online Passenger Reservation Site for Mumbai-Varanasi train. I have made transaction but failed to ticket within one minute of time all the tickets were sold out and it was showing waiting list for all the trains every day. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE???????? There is some major Blunder going on. Please look into the matter.
