Irctc — Train cancelled but Money not refunded | |||
I have filed TDR for refund of money due to train cancellation. Irctc sends me the below reply. "With Reference to your PNR No:[protected], we regret to inform you that refund is not admissible as informed by Railways through their letter no : CCR160515V01037 and the reason being : 'Miscellaneous' How can they say like this. The train got cancelled we had to suffer a lot due to that and then too they are saying that your money will not be refunded. Seriously annoyed. Kindly see to this matter. I have booked a ticket in above train on above date in 2nd AC. The train was cancelled. I anyhow returned from chennai and reached varanasi on 26th, I filed a TDR on 27th, But they regretted saying late filed TDR.
The amount is 7500 approx.
When the train is cancelled it is not my mistake. So i should get my money back.

When i called irctc customer care, they told that in case of train getting cancelled, you need to cancel the ticket within 72 hrs. But how would one come to know of this rule if you don't inform immediately. There was no sms or any other information saying that the train has been cancelled and if you want your money back then go to irctc portal and cancel your ticket. What is the logic of not returning the money if you cancelled the train and din't provide any service at all? Please refund my money back to the same account through which this ticket was booked. Below are the ticket detaiks. Awaiting for your response.
