Irda — health insurance for 11 (eleven) months

Please apprise if insurance co can issue group health insurance policy for a period of 11 (Eleven) months as against premium for 12 (Twelve) months. We know that group health insurance is issued for a period of 12 months which can be renewed after completion of 12 months, now i want to know if insurance company can renew the policy for a period of 11 months as against premium of 12 months.
