Jeeves Consumer Services — company unresponsive to issue | |
A jeeves engineer, who came to install a tv i bought from flipkart, sold me the idea of going in for a 2-year extended warranty for rs 1520. It seemed like a simple enough deal. When i had to move the tv some months later i contacted them and they said i would have to pay a fee (The warranty only covers malfunctioning, not other issues). That was still fine - i paid and got it moved. When i recently called them about a software issue — a malfunctioning and therefore covered by the warranty — the customer care exec wouldn't even listen to the problem. He asked me to first email their claims department with proof that i was in fact a warranty holder. It seemed clearly like a way to stall the customer and it incensed me but i did as he asked and e-mailed the documents. As suspected, it has been four days and nobody has got in touch since. It is not a coincidence that google reviews for jeeves (Which, alas, i had not seen before buying the warranty) are full of warnings that it is a waste of money and they provide nothing for the sum they charge. Clearly jeeves is running a neat racket, pocketing rs 1520 each from a number of customers, promising 2 year warranty and then dodging everyone. I too would love to be paid for doing nothing.
