Jet Airways — Check in counter harassment and forced to extract money in the name of excess baggage weight

I was traveling on 23rd December, 2015 from Chennai to Madurai from Jet Airways ( Jet Konnect) alongwith my father Ghanshyam Gupta and mother Meena Gupta. We had 3 tickets in all number[protected] to 6586 . The eticket were booked through make my trip and the flt no was 9W-2727 and depart time was 13.30 hours from terminal 1 Chennai. We reached the check in counter at 12.45 P.M. We have already done web check in. We had 3 suitcase bags and 2 cabin bags with us being 3 pessengers. The weight of our 3 suit case baggage was 45 kg well within permitted weight and weight of one Cabin bag was 11 Kg and of second cabin bag was 3 Kg . The check in counter girl, namely Ms Kamsi did the weight of 3 suit cases and one cabin baggage of 11Kg and came to the conclusion arbitrarily that your weight is in excess of 11 Kg since only 15 kg per passenger that means total 45 Kg is allowed to us 3 passengers . We keep on arguing that we are sending only 3 suitcases in the aircraft of 45 Kg which weight is well within permitted rules of the Airlines and the other 2 are cabin bags which we will carry in cabin and total weight of both the cabin baggage was 14 Kg though we can carry three cabin bags of 7 kg each total 21 Kg as per rules of the airlines and we requested her to give us few seconds to shift the luggage from one cabin bag of 11 Kg to other cabin bag of 3Kg to make them even. But to our dismay and shocked moment of our life the check - in counter girl Ms Kamsi behaved so rudely and arrogantly with us and kept on threatening us that don’t waste the time you are late and you will be offloaded if you take time to change the luggage from one cabin bag to other cabin bag. She keep on threatening us to offload us or you pay the amount Rs 3850/- for extra luggage weight of 11 kg of one cabin bag which she was not allowing us to take to the cabin and was forcing us to sent the cabin bag to the aircraft along with other 3 suitcases . We may clarify again that we reached the check in counter at 12.45 PM i.e. 45 minutes before the departures and have already done web check in so there was no question of we being late and further we were having total weight of 59 Kg of all our 5 bags which was much lesser than the permitted 66 Kg for 3 passengers i.e 15Kg +7Kg for each person as per the rules and regulations of the Jet Airlines. But we were intentionally and with nefarious motives were denied few seconds to shift the luggage from one cabin bag to other on the pretext that the flight will be delayed but we may bring to your kind notice that whole process of preparing the bill of so called excess baggage and the time to deposit the money at cash counter took more than 15 minutes apart from the at least 10 minutes time taken by the lady in arguing with us for excess baggage. The service and treatment which we had was really a painful. we never in our life found ourselves in such helpless situation. I wanted to write complaint on that day itself to higher authority of Jet Airways but I was very busy And occupied as we have gone to Madurai to attend the marriage functions of our relative and could even get the time to think of the incident till the 5th January 2016. I am not destructive guy and I always respect airline of Indian carrier but this time I will try all my best to give review to all website and social networking and will explain my story of harassment which Jet Airways has done and particularly that girl I feel this way I am helping many people who will suffer by choosing to fly in Jet Airways. I will stop flying in Jet Airways in future unless the money of Rs 3850/- extracted from me is not refunded to me soon . I know I alone will not be able to impact even inch to such big organization of Jet Airways but many genuine people like us who will suffer will make an impact surely once upon time. (This will be probably a reason why Indian airline can-not make profit). I am professional and very busy guy and still I am motivated to write such big message, itself means how badly I had been treated. I reserve the right to file legal case against Jet Airways if I do not get any response within 15 days of receiving this mail/complaint
