Subject: Discharge process delays in case of Mr Shridhar Khandekar
( MR no 95769)
Dear Sir/Ma'am,
This is with reference to Mr Shridhar Khandekar's (my father) discharge from your highly esteemed hospital. Here is the background:
1. My father was admitted on 13th March'22 (under Dr Kakade's supervision) on account of excess water retention. He is a regular dialysis patient in your hospital.
2. After related treatment he was okayed for a discharge at around 11.30 am on 16th March'22.
3. His regular dialysis slots are at 2 pm on every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Hence, he was scheduled to undergo dialysis at 2 pm on that day, which for some unknown reason was delayed to 6 pm! Consequently, the entire discharge process was stretched to 8 pm in the night.
4. We ensured the mediclaim process completion from our insurance company in less than one hour however the discharge process wasn't completed even after 8 pm, as we were not even handed over the discharge summary. Hence we had to leave without the discharge summary document, as it wasn't feasible for us to keep my father waiting endlessly.
I thought I should bring this incident to your notice, as it should not get repeated with not only us but anyone else.
By and large, so far, we have had good experience with your hospital so we treat this as one exception. Having said that, I am sure, you will look into this for tightening any loose ends from your side.
Note: we have not received discharge summary.
With regards,
Milind Shridhar Khandekar
