I am filing this complaint against Kalyan Jewellers (Haldwani Branch) for deficiency in service and unfair trade practice.
I requested redemption of my gold coin during my first visit to the branch on 7 September 2025. Despite making a valid request, my redemption was denied by the branch staff.
Initially, I was informed that the gold coin was not available. I was then asked to return later and subsequently told to come after Diwali. Over the following weeks and months, I was given different and contradictory explanations by the branch.
It has now been more than 4 months, and despite repeated follow-ups, calls, and visits, no resolution has been provided.
After repeatedly denying my redemption, the branch later stated that the coin could be redeemed, but only at the prevailing gold rate, which had increased by then.
It is unfair and unreasonable to expect a customer to bear a higher price solely because the branch denied redemption at the time of the first request and provided misleading information regarding availability.
I am not disputing the scheme policy. I am only requesting that Kalyan Jewellers follow its own policy fairly and honor the redemption as per the date on which I first approached the branch and was denied without valid reason.
The delay, confusion, and continued non-resolution for over four months have occurred entirely due to the branch’s actions, inconsistent communication, and internal mismanagement.
I respectfully request intervention to ensure:
1. Redemption of my gold coin
2. Application of the gold rate applicable on 7 September 2025, being the date of my first redemption request and denial
3. Written confirmation of resolution
