Hi there,
recently i was at the karachi bakery, kharkhana, secunderabad.
below is my experience.
1. when i asked for cashew biscuits - loose ones, i was forced to buy a minimum of 250 gms. i was looking to buy only 100 or 150 gms to make sure the quality is still the same as that of the packed biscuits. but i had no choice. so, i asked for 250 gms.
2. as they cant accurately weigh 250 gms due to the nature of the content, the weight went up to 264 gms.
3. when i went up to the billing, i was surprised to see the bill as below.
0.264 * 385 = 101.64 as total.
but the amount payable shows as phone pay - rs.102
i told them that i am paying digitally and hence they dont need to worry about the change.
but to my surprise, i was told that any amount abobe 50 paise is being automatically rounded up to the next rupee.
and customers are being forced to pay higher even they choose to pay digitally / electronically.
after a long conversation with the store manager, cluster manager and operations manager, i was again told the same reason.
the system is made in way that it automatically rounds up to the next rupee.
after a long followup, today, i was told that this will be fixed in the coming financial year and until then they cant do much about it.
i asked for a written communication about this; but havnet got it yet.
this practice seems like to be non customer friendly and not legal as well and has to be addressed at the earliest.
i would like to bring it to this forum and seek help regarding this matter.
attaching the bill and the reference phone number shared by the counter staff on the day of purchase.
thanks and regards.
krishna
