Laxminarayan Shetty — Mulund Hotelier Laxminarayan Shettys drug peddling connection

A RTI activist and political enthusiast, Laxminarayan Shetty (Mulund West) who is the owner of Café Krishna and Krishna Bhog restaurant is now accused of allegedly being linked with an international drug peddler.

According to sources, Laxminarayan Shetty (Mulund hotelier) has ties to an international drug peddler and has been involved in the racket. In October of 2015, Laxminarayan Shetty, along with two others, were arrested on charges of running an extortion racket targeting builders. After the court allowed the plea to determine if the three accused were part of a larger extortion ring, the Mulund Police sought a seven-day remand and booked them under IPC sections 384, 385, and 506 for the same.

Laxminarayan Shetty is not the first Mumbai hotelier that has been involved in a drug syndicate. In September 2021, a Bandra-based restaurateur, Kunal Jani was arrested by NCB for acting as a mediator for drug peddlers and clients. Some foreign nationals were also arrested in the same case in which Arjun Rampal’s girlfriend’s brother Agisilaos Demetriades is also an accused.

The NCB has been on the lookout for those involved in such drug cartels, with the goal of apprehending them, punishing them appropriately, and putting an end to the neighbouring countries’ conspiracy. The central law enforcement & intelligence agency has been appreciated for doing a good job in unearthing the drug mafia in the country by the citizens.
