I have booked a homestay on October 2, 2022 from Makemytrip Application at Mandara Homestay for a stay from October 3, 2022 to October 5, 2022. As per the booking we have to be provided with 02 - Standard rooms.
We reached Mandara Home stay on October 3, 2022 at 8:30 PM. Surprisingly there was no single light or name board or sign board in front of the homestay. When we got down from the car, we had been accompanied by the homestay person. Surprisingly, the person who received us at homestay was full of alcoholic smell and further when we entered the home it was full of alcohol smell inside the rooms and the home. In Fact, we were shocked to see that the person was staying inside the home itself. We have been allotted only one room instead of two rooms as per booking. We have requested them for another room as per the booking, but they denied the same. The Homestay was very much inside the forest hence we did not have any other option instead to stick at the same place till morning.
The room provided to us was the worst. Right next to the door there was a room without any door which was full of garbage and alcohol bottles. In Fact, there were alcohol bottles even outside the balcony where there were chairs. We have been provided the room right next to it where it was smelling heavily. Once we entered the room, we saw lizards on the wall and many insects on the floor even including the washroom. The paint is falling off from the walls inside the room. We have asked the homestay person about the cleanliness of the rooms, and he didn't even care to answer about it. As we were hungry, we requested them for food, they provided us with a plate of rice and a few rotis with a charge of Rs. 500.
We were so scared the entire night as the homestay person was very rude and smelled of alcohol. He was continuously having alcohol when we were present there. He gave me weird looks and made me feel very uncomfortable. We were silent the whole night as he was alcoholic, and it is very unsafe for me as a woman to get into a fight with the person at homestay.
In the morning we tried to leave as quickly as possible. We got fresh by 6: 30 AM and left the place around 7 AM. We felt very unsafe to tell them that we will not come back for the night stay again to that homestay. We were very afraid and scared and left that property in the early morning.
However, I have informed the Makemytrip representative by call and requested them to take action against the homestay owner and representative of the homestay. I have further informed them that I am on a road trip. I will be having intermittent signals or no signal for a couple of days. However, Makemytrip reached me out a couple of times where I have informed them of the problems at the homestay and have further informed them about the signals. The same can be checked from the call recordings which makemytrip record. Instead Makemytrip closed the issue and raised a voucher which is very unprofessional where I have informed the team that the place is unsafe for women. Further, I have already sent all photographs showing alcohol bottles, lizards and uncleanness of the property and room provided to me.
I am requesting Makemytrip to remove the homestay from makemytrip app and to give me an entire amount paid by me for the homestay.
