I had made a hotel booking via MMT to Ooty which was confirmed by MMT. I drove 8 hours from Bangalore to Ooty with my 3 year old and after reaching hotel got to know that they had not received any booking from MMT. After 4 hours of calls with MMT folks, and my family waiting in reception in cold weather, MMT customer care said “sorry, mistake from our side, we will refund the amount”. When we asked them to book an alternative, they said they can’t find anything and hence we should go back to Bangalore now. We drove all the way basis their confirmed booking and all they could say was – sorry, now drive back to Bangalore. They didn’t even make a reasonable attempt to find an alternative for us to stay. They did not even tell us how this mistake happened at their end. We had no option but to drive back to Bangalore which took another 10 hours. 18 hours travel in the day, and not much to our surprise our 3 year fell ill by end of the day with so much exertion. We really were very upset and expected MMT to compensate for all the trouble they caused us (not just the refund, but the entire experience o[censored]s travelling 18 hours based on incorrect confirmation send to us by them); but guess what – it’s been 4 days and they have not yet refunded the amount, forget compensating for the harassment they caused. When we called the customer care again – they said that as per records “we had requested for hotel cancellation” and hence no refund! Forget empathy and going extra mile for customers, MakeMyTrip is a completely FRAUD company looting people by making false bookings. Their customer care folks being absolutely unfriendly, cold, and giving wrong information (Kajal Rawat, Bhumit, Deepak, are some customer care folks from MMT we spoke from and “care” was the last thing in their mind).
What do I expect:
1) Refund of the FULL amount
2) Apology from MMT for the experience
3) Compensation for the 18 hours travel they made me do on that day (travel cost + because of them my daughter became unwell with this level exertion)
MakeMyTrip India customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
