Non refund of convenience fee when flight was cancelled by airline

I booked an Indigo flight ticket in Makemytrip for travel from Kolkata to Dibrugarh on 14th January 2022 (Makemytrip Booking ID NF26S7MYSAS2RYNM0472). Indigo canceled many flights on their own because of the 3rd wave of COVID. My flight was among them. Since Indigo cancelled, I initimated MMT and asked for refund of the amount 6708 that I had paid.

However, MMT refunded only 6108 deducting the convenience fee. Now I understand...

    I did my date change on 4th of Jan 2022 for Mumbai to Dehradhun flight over the phone I has a word with Aman ..he told me you will get your refund in 7 business days still I'm waiting no response from them,

      Dear Makemytrip team,

      It was a nice experience booking train ticket through your platform but due to some reason I had to cancel that ticket for which I was expecting full refund as there was an option while booking the ticket which asked for if I wanted full refund and i had chosen that option. Attaching the screenshot of it for your reference.

      I had paid Rs. 2216, so i was expecting this much refund but to my surprise I just got Rs 1365 refunded. So if you don't mind, can you please assist me with break up of amount.

        Booking ID: NF[protected]

        I have booked 2 ticket from Ahmedabad to Hyderabad on 16 Jan 2022.

        Now flight is canceled and we process refund on Airline Website. He has return amount was we paid by MakeMyTrip.

        Now Make My trip again applied MMT Convenience Fee for cancellation.

        Why you charged MMT Convenience fees for refund. Already Airline transfer booking amount to you. MMT has to do nothing and also flight is cancelled so please refund fully amount what Airline Transferred to you.

        OR give Refund option with airline, so we can directly transfer refund in our account.

        I hope MMT team is understand issue

        Issue :
        1. Provide option that we got refund from airline to us without MMT involvement.

        2.Give Fully refund when flight is canceled.

          1) My daughter, Gaurvi Pandeya was scheduled to travel from Del to Melbourne for studies. A confirmed ticket from Qantas airways for 11th Jan 2021 travel date vide Booking ID IN1B[protected] was issued on 14th December 2021. A payment of Rs147704 was made.

          2) Omicron crisis hit the world including India. As a matter of abundant caution, we thought it was best to postpone the ticket for the 16th Jan. The agent asked us to pay Rs 15073 an additional amount to make the ticket change. This amount was promptly paid vide credit card on the 6th of Jan.
          3) On 7th of January we received a communication from Makemytrip enclosing a ticket from Del to Melbourne for the same airlines.
          4) On the evening of 7th of January we received a call from Mriganko Paul of MakeMyTrip informing us that in case an additional amount of Rs22196 is not paid, the airline will cancel the ticket. No persuasion was permitted and we were literally forced to pay this additional amount for fear that the amounts already paid will also be lost. An additional payment of Rs22196 was paid on the 7th Jan.
          5) When my daughter looked at the already sent ticket for the 16th Jan journey, she realized that this is just a letter, not a ticket. She contacted customer care and was informed that the ticket has not been issued by Qantas. She has been following up with customer care two to three times a day every day but no resolution done.
          6) These events have caused her and me a great amount of trauma and loss of mental peace and major financial loss.
          7) Travel to Australia has to be preceded by an RTPCR test that is 3 days before departure. Desperate with no resolution in sight, my daughter has been forced to inform the Australian University requesting to postpone her session to April.

          Request:
          1) Refund the entire amount of Rs184973 immediately
          2) Compensate me and my daughter for the trauma
          3) Compensate my daughter for the loss of one-quarter of her studies in Australia.

          Please note that we are not seeking a ticket now because my daughter has been forced to postpone her semester because of the lack of a travel ticket from MakeMyTrip. Any ticket now will be of no value as travel per see has had to be postponed.

          I hope I will find a resolution to my request.

              I had booked a ticket via MMT during lockdown in the year 2020 bearing booking ID- NF[protected] which was affected by pandemic and at last suspended. Subsequently, as per aviation ministry order the airline authority had to refund the fare of flights which was affected during lockdown period. However, in my case MMT did not refund the amount and credited it as a shell which I should to avail it within one year from the booking time. So, I thought I will be going in next one year better it fine no problem in keeping it as a credit shell. By the by in the month of October, 2020 when i tried to use the credit shell for booking flight ticket it shown invalid so I had to cancel my above booking and asked for refund. So as I contact with MMT customer for refund and they told me to give my bank details as per desired by them I gave the same above details and wait for refund till the deadline was 14th October, 2021. When the deadline was over and the refund was not initiated to me then I started to contact with MMT customer care many times. As after hard waiting for 2 months suddenly I got a called from MMT customer care on 16th December, 2021 that their Banking team, Refund team and Finnance team had verified and found that they had initiated the refund in two installments and advised me to contact with my concerned bank. As per advised From MMT customer care I had contact with my concerned bank and provide the UTR no of refund and after search found that MMT had initiated the refund to me but by mistake of non putting of one zero in my account number the refund was auto return to MMT. Hence, on 31st December, 2021 i contacted to MMT customer care n provide the attachment of prove. Subsequently, after waiting for 10 days when no reply was initiated to me then i try to contact MMT but I am astonished to hear that no existing booking was found with my registered mobile number. So, i also check in my MMT mobile app in trip section and I am strange to see that no booking was done yet in MMT app. All the details of my trip journey was deleted by MMT authority and now I am helpless to contact with them because according to me I think they did so intensely and ignoring my case of refund. Please help me out and this is my last try to get my refund of amount Rs.19, 992/- through consumer complaint. This is very disappointing of such behaviour from renowned booking website like MMT. It is hard to beleive that in India booking website like MMT has cheating their customer like me so easily and without fearless. Still I beleive that Truth will always Triumph n it is my last hope that consumer complaint will try their best to resolve my issue.

                I had Rs 9616 in my make my trip wallet due to flight cancellation. I raised a request to transfer it to my bank account. The money got deducted but I never received it. There is no way to contact MakeMyTrip. Could you please help. Attaching the MMT wallet screenshot.

                  I had a flight from srinagar to bangalore of rs 13000 but the flight was cancelled by the airlines, due to bad weather and I just got the refund of 602 rs. I want a full refund or I will file a case.

                    Indigo Airlines had cancelled the flight on 23rd of January, 2022 from Kolkata to Delhi for my PNR PJ5TWV.

                    Indigo airlines have initiated full refund of Rs. 8148. They have forwarded a mail also regarding the same.

                    But MMT has initiated refund of Rs. 5858 only. Makemytrip has absolutely no human available and only IVR options are available which are not resolving the issue. This is a big harassment as flight cancelled due to fault of Airlines and full refund has also been forwarded by the Airlines but makemytrip is eating the refund and not forwarding the full amount.

                      Problem statement: I have three booking ID of makemy trip and unable to use credit shell, as existing booking of year 2020 are not reflecting in " MY TRIP " section of my username with make my trip. Also company do not have any grievance addressal system or any email contact for communication.

                      Airline - Spicejet
                      Spicejet comments of date 12th Jan 2022; Credit shell available and only makemy trip can use it for new booking.

                        Hi,

                        I had made a booking with makemyTrip on 14th February 2021 in flexible plan (booking ID: NF[protected]
                        ). I made a date change to 20th of Nov. But later airline canceled the flight, so I made a refund request to MakeMyTrip on 20th of Nov.

                        after that I followed up with MakeMytrip many times, even i shared my experience of Facebook but they were not able to provide me any resolution. They kept on giving me RRN number and asking me to follow up with my bank. I checked with my bank and shared their written response for not getting any refund amount to Makemytrip. I also shared all my bank statment for last 11 months but even after all these, Makemytrip is shamelessly not refunding my amount. When I asked for bank acknowledgment from MakemyTrip for refund then there was no response.

                        so I request you to please help me with my refund.

                          Booking ID - NL[protected]

                          I have booked Andaman package from 12-17th January with my wife and kids. However, with the recent announcement of closing all the tourist spots, beaches and activities with immediate effect #MakeMyTrip agents are forcing us to travel in flights with kids and stay in hotels even in this dire situation or else to bear all the losses. I do not see any fault with me in this case and why I need to bear all the losses here.

                          All the ads my MakeMyTrip to do hassle free last minute cancellations seems farce here. Please urgently look into this matter as this is simply unacceptable behaviour by MMT India team.

                          If the government of Andaman announces to closeof all tourist spots due to rise in covid cases, how am I supposed to travel with my kids. Lots of money around 1.08 lakhs are at stake here.

                            I booked a room for my staff Anil Kumar on 25.12.2021 for 3 nights at OYO 61919 Piyush Residency Hotel address MIG-11, Kalinga Vihar, Patrapada, Bhubaneswar. My booking Id was NH[protected] and PNR [protected]. Booking date was Dec 25 11:21AM and check in date was Dec 25. When my staff went to this hotel for check-in, there was no room available. All rooms were fully booked and the hotel did not give him room. Full amount was paid in advance for the room. Makemytrip is refusing to give refund. We sent them email but no reply. After lot of difficulty we contacted their customer care but they are saying sorry but cannot give refund. Please refund my paid amount.

                                  My bus was canceled without any prior intimation given, in fact i was called at 6:45pm on 24th december and told to board the bus at 6:10 pm ( by call center agent of intrcity), my actual booking was different, my pick up was at 7:45 pm from paradise, but that bus got canceled previous night itself ( without any intimation) and intimation was given at 6:45 pm to board at 6:10 pm on the day of travel! which is not .I have always used intrcity for my travels.intrcity offered a full refund which i accepted, it has been 5 days now and no refund has been received. when contacting the Incharge number that was given to me, he tells me to ask the intrcity customer care, when contacted intrcrity, they tell me to contact makemytrip as i made my booking there, but MMT shows my trip as completed .Please check my account details and booking details for 24th december HYD - PUNE ( 7:45 pm pick up) and initiate a full refund at the earliest. Thank You.

                                    I had booked a flight ticket from Nairobi to bangalore for date 18th January 2022. Booking was done on 21st December 2021 and the ticket was canceled on 2nd January 2022. Refund to be processed by 7 days and hasn't been done till now. Also, there is not customer care number that I can call. And no email ID as well.

                                      Money got debited but flight not confirmed

                                      Hello Team,

                                      I tried a book a flight on Makemytrip 3 days ago i.e; 6th January 2022 from Bengaluru to Jammu, but my amount got debited and I did not receive any booking details nor showing in the pending requests. I tried reaching out on customer care number, but it is a pathetic service as call doesn't get connected to anybody even after hours of wait.I waited 3 days as per refund policy but still didn’t got any response.br...
