I cancelled my booking because I booked with default head count of one, so I cancelled and thought to rebook with head count of 3. Once i did cancel my money is completely taken away. I talked to the customer care and asked at-least add the extra head count and reopen the same booking. But they replied it is not in our hand, money is given to hotel and it cannot be refunded. So I rang up to the hotel, but the hotel management said refund is allowed one day before check-in date and also money is with makemytrip only till that time. When I checked the same hotel in goibibo it is true up to one day before check-in is able to refund with 10% cancel charges.

Thanks for your feedback, I understand the marketing strategy is different for each, but my other question is if booking is cancelled by mistake and why you hesitate to reopen the same Booking ID at the same time duration?

I also understand reopen of cancelled booking have many issue from your side, but still you should consider the time duration and other criteria and mistake which happen manually.

I spoke to the customer care immediately when I felt something happened wrong from my side.

Also your website didn't show the cancellation charges applicable if I do so. Warnings and alerts are mandatory when we do this kind of transaction, also you need to show the cancellation charges applicable before accept.

May be you can cross check this with Goibibo website. Finally I pushed to book same hotel in that same day.

In reference to your above query, please note that we show cancellation charges 3 times before confirming the booking on website and as well as on mobile App. firstly, when you check for particular hotel, second when you click to the room category and third when it come to final page.

You have given your comments when we do booking of the ticket, but i asked you when we do cancellation of the booking, there is no clear pictures of how much charges applicable on cancel, it is showed only after cancellation.
