MakeMyTrip India — no refund for cancellation of holiday package to corona affected area | |||
Dear mam/sir, I had a booking with the id nl[protected] to jaisalmer jodhpur on the 20th of march, we had raised an cancellation on the 4th of march 2020 due the global crisis of corona virus outbreak and the corresponding government advisory to avoid public places. Please refer the news clipping below that states that there has been cases in jailsalmer/jodhpur as well https://www.business-standard.com/article/pti-stories/16-italian-tourists-infect...⇄ As this juncture as i am travelling with 2 senior citizens and three kids it is not safe to travel to this location but makemytrip is forcing me to take this travel or get no refund which is 80, 000 rupees. The only bookings that we have done are of hotel stay/local travel which as per the hotel policy is completely refundable so i don't understand why are we not being given a refund? I understand there is a cancellation policy in place but that is for personal cancellations and not for such global crisis. If makemytrip is understanding this concern for international customers i don't understand why the domestic customers are not being treated at par.
