Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to formally register a complaint regarding the highly unprofessional and distressing experience I faced at your Ghaziabad branch while attempting to claim a refund of ₹4050.
I have taken 2 days office leave to get refund On my first visit, I was informed by your staff that since the payment was made more than a month ago, I was not eligible for a refund and was instead advised to purchase medicines or products in exchange—despite this being contrary to any prior communication or standard refund policy.
On my second visit, I was asked to produce identification for the refund process. I promptly provided my Aadhaar card along with my wife's Aadhaar card, but a staff member from your finance department, Ms. Latika, rudely denied the refund stating that my name was not mentioned in the Aadhaar documents. This was an illogical and insensitive excuse that ignored the fact that the payment was made for a legitimate purpose and I had provided valid ID.
To comply with their irrational demand, I was forced to obtain and present my marriage certificate, which finally led to the refund being processed. However, by then, I had already been subjected to mental harassment, unnecessary delays, and the rude and unhelpful behaviour of Ms. Latika, who made the entire experience extremely unpleasant.
This kind of treatment is completely unacceptable, especially from a reputed institution like Manipal Hospitals. Patients and their families expect empathy, professionalism, and ethical conduct—not harassment, disrespect, and bureaucratic hurdles for something as straightforward as a refund.
I urge your management to:
1. Investigate this matter thoroughly.
2. Take disciplinary action against Ms. Latika for her unprofessional behaviour.
3. Revise your refund policies to be patient-friendly and ensure clarity and consistency in communication.
Due to this experience, I will not recommend Manipal Hospital to anyone, and I intend to raise awareness about this matter on relevant public platforms if no action is taken.
