Medanta hospital has intentionally raised the waiting time for cghs beneficiaries to discourage patients from availing the cghs benefits. I visited the hospital today, at 12 noon with a opd appointment in the gaestro department. There was a separate section for cghs patients for billing. The waiting time for the cghs patients was informed to be around 2-3 hours.

Surprised by such overwhelming waiting time, i contacted manager, mr. Jaideep who behaved with great rudeness and asked to get the pay the full amount to the doctor if there is urgency. He also told that the time taken for billing of one patient takes at least 20 minutes.

That is clear case of mismanagement, non-adherence to the cghs guidelines and deliberate cheating by the hospital and it's staff. I will also raise a complaint with the cghs at the highest level against the hospital.
