Dr. Akanksha Batra

I had booked an appointment with a Counselor in the Psychiatry Department over the phone in advance. Upon arriving at the Hospital, however, I was told by the Reception Desk that the booked Doctor was unavailable due to an emergency. They recommended be Dr. Batra who was available on that day.

I regret ever going to her. She lied to me & took advantage of me. She didn't have my test results ready in time for my counselling...

This information is regarding emergency ward security guard, which doesn't allow my mother to meet his son as he was taken to emergency. He is minor 14 years old. And over to that he said that i[censored] will respect me to the highest only then i will he will allow my mom to the emergency ward. And He refused and talked very badly. This is not a ethics to talk to any one. This is highly unprofessional to see such behaviour in such big hospital. I dont know his name. But the is at duty right know4:30 in emergency ward. Please do correct this behaviour

My father Mr Kanwar pal Singh is 62 years old and have served 38 years in Indian Air Force. By working in defence and serving country he has earned several benefits like ECHS facility. But hospitals like Medanta treats ECHS patients like downgrade citizens. My father was diagnosed with enlarged prostate and advised surgery. On19th Dec'20 after all tests and duly submission of all documents, hospital staff suggest him to get admitted on 20th Dec'20 at 10 am in morning. But on arriving th encounter for admission, the staff- Mr karan denied the admission saying documents are not sufficient and are incomplete. After a lot of discussion and heated arguments at around 12 noon he finally gave him the admissions, but after going to the room again at around 2.30 pm lunch was served to him that too after complaining at nursing counter on the floor.
Again after some time my father was shifted to another room- a general ward with 4 patients including him although the permission in documents submitted by us and also provided to us at the time of admission was of semi private ward with only 2 patients.

Is this is the service that a hospital like Medanta provides to a senior citizen and also a defence personal who have served the country throughout his like. Or is this a way to give respect and comfort to patients who are cash cows and neglect the others.

Hoping a quick revert on this before his surgery. We can take him to other hospital as well since Medanta is not interested in serving senior citizen and a defence personal of this country since they are only aiming at earning revenues...????

    Regards,
    Sonika

On 17th September 2020, due to Medanta TPO team's mistake in sending treatment documents/discharge summary to insurance company we have to wait for 8-9 hours. Finally, we were informed that we haven't send complete documents to insurance company so patient discharge is possible next day only. So, we had to pay cash from our side for discharge .
Later in claiming this amount we had no cooperation from Medanta team .
Medanta is least concerned about customer's hard earned money .Only motive is to fill their pockets.
From 2 months my money is struck due to Medanta inefficiency.

        Sir,
        I tell u that our patient Id - MM00633073
Name - Nirmala Gupta has admitted in ICU - 9
Bed no .199 on 31/10/20 . Our patient has been treated very badly by your nursing staff and the patient has been subjected to subordinate words such as corona, cancer patient by your nursing staff . Due to which, his mental condition got very upset. That is why we are taking our patient to another hospital because treatment is not being done properly by the doctors and nurses here and we are not satisfied. We were also treated unfairly by guard Madame Priyanka outside ( Intensive Care Unit 9 ) Which we could not have expected from such a large hospital, that the behavior done by the nursing staff should not be ignored.Immediate action should be taken against it.

Medanta hospital, ranchi — extreme carelessness by the hospital ot staff within the ot

            Mark as resolved

On 18-2-20 my mother was admitted to the hospital around 10:45am for a fistula to be made by a successful and renowned doctor on that day but she was admitted but not operated till we followed up and we were told that she would be the 10th and last person to have the fistula made that day. She was taken to the ot around 7:15pm and kept in the recovery room since afternoon with no food etc to a serious kidney failure patient. However after she was taken to the ot we left the recovery room but afterwards we came to know from some unknown person (Won’t specify the details of the person who informed us) that soon after we left there was a screaming voice from the ot of my mother and that she was brought back to her bed in the recovery room and was silent.
We rushed to know the facts but we were told that the time was up and the fistula would be made the next day. The facts turned out that the ot attendants took her to the ot and left her unattended without guarding her bed from both sides and she fell down - imagine what could have happened from falling from such a height (Must be around 4 feet) and the stretcher width was just enough to accommodate one person). She had been admitted to emergency in fortis multi-speciality hospital, anandpur on 30-1-20 when the hospital in dhanbad had made us lose hopes and was rushed overnight by an ambulance to kolkata overnight. The doctors at fortis had declared multiple organ failure and she was in the icu till 7-2-20 and had to be forcibly discharged at our own risk on 8-2-20. She was undergoing dialysis 4 times a week with a channel in her neck and had fallen on the same side in which there was the neck channel. There were lots of clots on her right cheek, hand, knees and hips. She could have collapsed that very time at medanta if the channel was affected but god and her strong saved her.
We did not take action since we had travelled all the way to ranchi from dhanbad to get the fistula made from dr. Siddharth mishra, who was considered to be the best in jharkhand with maximum successful cases.
Next day she was operated and the doctor said that her skin was very delicate and weak so utmost care was required.
Even the patients and their relatives in the recovery room were all talking about the carelessness of the hospital although the doctors were good.
However the nurses and students attending to my mother in the room where we had to stay overnight paying the charges were really good.
Such type of recklessness is not approved in hospitals where it is a matter of life and death.
In fortis too the nursed in the icu were not that good-my mother still has lots of mask marks on her face. She was starving there and had become very weak but nobody cared after being in a bad state for almost a month.

I have not mentioned the name of the patient as the hospital records would be updated on those particular dates.Would request the forum to get the video extracted to know what exactly happened in the OT-the facts would then come to the forefront.I am not simply complaining about what my mother faced but for all future patients who might have similar experiences.

We were charged heavily for the room which would not have been accrued if the fistula was made on 18-2-20 itself and she could have returned home. There were unnecessary charges which were rectified after follow up for not less than 2 hours. The room and other services till the next day should have been provided free of charge to us since these accrued since we 3 people had no other option to stay in the hospital that night

I had a ###l examination done by Doctor Priyanka Batra - Senior Consultant at Medanta GURUgram on 14th december 2019 and same day I had ###l bleeding which lasted for 5 - 6 days. I thought it might be due to menstruation cycle, however once the bleeding stopped after 10 days i.e., 2nd January 2020 again I experienced heavy bleeding. I never faced this condition ever and I am worried with my current condition and confused as to what has been done to my ###. I am scared of trusting hospitals and doctors now.

Doctor Priyanka Batra spoke very nicely and I trusted her, however I can't trust any doctor after this. I am concerned about my health, however I cannot gather enough strength, trust and will to get myself examined by another gynaecologist. I am not experiencing any physical pain except headache, however I am concerned about the untimely bleeding.

I am depressed because of the unusual bleeding post examination, yet I am not convinced that an experienced doctor like Priyanka Batra would do something intentionally as she was very warm, polite and kind towards me while our first appointment and I would not like to put her on that spot which could harm her reputation professionally. I am taking my complaint back, yet this is not appropriate because my health is at stake. As I am not facing any severe pain except the untimely, unexplained bleeding twice within two weeks since she examined me, I forgive her even if this was accidental. This incident definitely shook my confidence and I will not go to medanta anymore. I also came across various complaints on consumer forum against medanta, hence I forgive her as my case seems not so severe as compared to others on this forum. I am only taking back my complaint because of Priyanka Batra's etiquette and mannerism. She addressed me as "beta" and that word means a lot to me, hence I am taking back my complaint.

I am unable to reach the TPA people on phone. The IVR on the phone number +[protected] is faulty. The second number +[protected] does not even ring! How do I contact the TPA team without having to go to the hospital myself ???

Medanta the medicity - cghs patient not being provided regular dialysis slots.

I have been trying to receive a regular slot for dialysis but i have only received comments that the slots are full.
For non-cghs patients they do provide slots.

When i put a general inquiry saying i want a regular slot for dialysis - the concerned person asks for the frequency of dialysis and time slot suitable and based on the inputs the concerned person tries to search for slot. The moment you provide the name of the patient and cghs category the concerned person replies currently we do not have any slots - please check back later.

Had it really been the case that they do not have any slots available they would deny without seeking the details.

As this hospital falls in the list of empaneled hospitals for our medical benefits and reimbursement claims, i want to stick this hospital for dialysis but unfortunately the internal administration is against taking in cghs patients for dialysis.

When the hospital is entitled to provide these facilities to cghs patients why does it deny.

Yesterday i tried to get appointment of any diabetes specialist doctor like dr harmanpreet kaur., dr sunil mishra, drjasjeet singh wasir but the person refused to book appointment saying no slot is available till january 20. Whereas as a general patient, u can get appointment for any day. Really very shameful attitude towards senior citizen patients. 6.

                        Hi

I am nabanita barua, i had been previously admitted to your hospital in the gastrology department under dr randhir sud.

I'm hereby writing to share my grievance. Uhid 1554392. I was admitted on 1 october 2019 at the gastrology department of medanta hospital, even after sharing my past medical history and incidental finding of cholodochal cyst and ovarian cyst, the doctors failed to communicate with the gynaecology department immediately. They did investigations without any communication with gynaecology department and missed on my mri for ovarian cyst. They only did dynamic mri and mrcp.

From 1st of october to 3rd of october 2019 of my stay and admission, was the time not sufficient to communicate between departments and complete the relevant procedures? Even after my several attempts at communicating with dr randhir sud's unit on my end to do the needful during the rounds submission of medical history in the opd oon 30september 2019, the communication with gynecologist was delayed till 3rd october 2019.

My pain and grievances is because i hail from jodhpur and my husband is on leave to have my treatment done. Due to poor communication and lack of coordination, i amlosing time and money. Had the necessary communication been done previously i would have saved the time and money.

Today is 7th october 2019, i have been tossed like a parcel from morning and so have been other patients as i observe waiting for mr sushil manager of radiology department from mri reception to medical superintendent.

                        Please do the needful.

                        Thank you

Sir, i was examined by dr. Saurav malvia in medanta hospital indore and asked for some medical examinations to be done for clarificatòn of disease. He asked to show the report to his junior in the same opd cabin.
But when i brought the report out show 8t to the doctor i was further charged with rs. 1000/-.
Very surprising you ask for report after taking fee in opd, i examin in your hospital after giving fee, then for showing report again pay fee.
                            Isnt it direct decoity.
                            Very shameful.

What is the point of making prior appointments when the doctor’s co-ordinator and nurses never follow the sequence or order of arrival especially if the patient is cghs beneficiary. It’s been 3 years i have yet to see them function properly. I have been procrastinating complaining thinking which organization works perfectly all the time. But, this hospital is consistent in being inconsistent.
Today too my moms appointment was at 11:45am and it’s 1:30pm and we are still waiting. They have allowed 3 different patients in between saying they just have few things to talk to doctor. Sometimes, any medanta staff member would cut the line and entire the doctor premises as if they are entitled to do that.
Although, i am not sure if this is how they function normal or they are biased against cghs benificary. Just to be clear cghs beneficiary are not charity case they being entitled to this privilege because they served the center government.
                              Thank you

My mother-in-law had her left lung sepsis with loculated left pleural effusion with atelectasis. And she was being treated in dibrugarh in assam. The doctors looking after her advised surgery. However, after much deliberation and consultation with friends/family we decided to take her to medanta – the medicity hospital in gurugram, haryana (Medanta) for getting her the best medical care. Since she could not be moved in a regular train or a flight, she was brought to delhi in an air-ambulance, then onwards to the hospital on 18th may.

On 20th may 2019, we had a discussion with the doctor, before the start of the treatment, our budget rs 7 to 9 lac. It was discussed very clearly that if the hospital is able to treat our patient within the aforementioned budget then only they should go ahead. There was an understanding about the budget in-principle, that’s why the treatment was started by the doctors at medanta. However, after more than a month of treatment they haven’t been able to cure the patient. The initially agreed budget was exhausted towards early june, however on hospital’s advice, and in view of patient’s non-improving condition, we continued to keep the patient under treatment by the hospital; even when there doesn’t appear to be a clear line of treatment apparent from the hospital.

On 20th may 2019, due to a procedural mistake by an assistant doctor when he was trying to take out fluid from the patient’s lungs resulted in bleeding in the throat; for which the patient was put on ventilator. It took the patient another 25 days to pass the “swallow-test”. During this time, unfortunately, the patient also caught an bacterial infection due to poor handling of medical equipment – caused by a bacteria *klebsiella*; this bacterial infection appears to be common in hospitals with poor hygiene standards.

These lapses are telling on medanta hospital’s medical and hygiene standards. Clearly, the hospital appears to be staffed by incompetent individuals and their sole purpose appears to extract money from patient’s family citing one pretext or another.

Moreover, even after spending so much money, there appears to be an understaffing of nurses, resulting in poor attention imparted to under-treatment patients; and possibly resulting in hygiene issues resulting in in-hospital infections.

Now, even after a treatment of 30+ days, the patient condition hasn’t improved and this insistence on continuity of treatment has been severely affecting our ability to afford the treatment further. After some hard questioning and seeking explanations from the doctors, we are asked to take back our patient!!!

Does the hospital have no sense of ethics or ownership? If it is too much to ask, do they at least have a sense of responsibility or accountability towards a patient and their family?

This stance is appalling and in complete disregard of an individuals’ faith that is instilled on an reputable hospital such as medanta. We travelled more than 2000 kms in an air-ambulance, all the way from dibrugarh, only to be fleeced by a *greedy, apathetic, insensitive and clearly incompetent* organization that only cares about stealing money from hapless citizens of this country by recommending redundant treatments to prolong a patient’s stay in the hospital.
