My patient, Manju Sharma (MM[protected], was discharged from Medanta Medicity, Gurgaon, on 3rd March 2026. As advised by Dr. Chitra Mehta, we opted for the Medanta Home Care critical care package, costing INR 2, 80, 000 for 30 days. Unfortunately, we began facing serious issues shortly after initiation of the service, many of which persist even now.
The key concerns are as follows:
11th March 2026 – A nursing staff member (Varsha) was assigned despite being visibly unwell and feverish, posing a significant infection risk to a critically ill patient.
18th March 2026 – The hospital bed provided was non-functional. Despite repeated complaints, the issue remained unresolved for four days.
20th March 2026 – A staff member was sent who lacked basic knowledge of medication administration, including IV handling and cannula management.
21st March 2026 – No replacement nurse was provided for over 26 hours, leaving an exhausted nurse to attend to a critical patient, compromising patient safety.
21st March 2026 – We were unable to reach the 24x7 on-call doctor during a critical situation involving elevated potassium levels, despite needing urgent guidance as per Dr. Rajneesh Kapoor’s team.
Virtual Consultations (VCs) – Scheduled virtual consultations were repeatedly cancelled (approximately 5–6 times during the month).
24th March 2026 (Early Morning Emergency) – During a critical deterioration in the patient’s condition, the on-call doctor did not respond despite seven calls made by the nurse. In the absence of support, we arranged for an external doctor. Additionally, the attending nurse was unable to perform essential procedures such as cannula insertion or preparing an Atropine injection, which had to be handled entirely by the external doctor.
Post-Program Issues – Even 15 days after completion of the program:
7 out of 8 virtual consultations remain pending (delayed by over 44 days).
Physiotherapy sessions were completed only recently.
No refund or adjustment has been provided for the missed services.
This pattern of negligence and service deficiency reflects a serious lapse in patient care and accountability. Despite raising these concerns multiple times verbally, no corrective action has been taken.
We request immediate attention to this matter, including a formal explanation, appropriate compensation, and resolution of pending services.
