This complaint is regarding cheating, misbehaving, mentally harassment and threat given to us by cab driver name Shrikant at 15.06.2023, taxi (Dzire) 5599. We (Me, My wife & my two sons, one elder son is special) reached Manali and I booked a taxi for Rohtang Pass for 15.06.2023 (morning) by Mr. Neeraj from the office of Taxi Driver Union at Mall Road, Manali. On 15.06.2023, driver Shrikant reached at 5.30 AM and we got in taxi at around 06.00 AM for Rohtang pass. We were told by Mr. Neeraj that the driver will show you on the way sightseeing like Gulaba, Marhi etc. Driver Shrikant did not stop anywhere on the way not even for washroom as my family wanted to get fresh before reaching Rohtang, but this driver did not stop even at Marhi for us to get fresh and did not show the sightseeing like Gulaba, etc. and the driver told us that he would show these sites while returning to Manali.
2) We reached Rohtang pass at around 7.30 AM, at that time there was lot of space for parking, I told him to park his taxi nearby as my special son would not walk so long if you park the taxi at a distance, he did not heed and parked his taxi at around 700 mtrs. away from the spot where he dropped us.
3) After spending time at Rohtang pass, at around 11.30 AM, we were looking for our taxi and with very difficult we found the taxi and sat in it. As the road for going back from the same route was packed / jammed at that time and he was very well aware of this jam as this jam is usual and he use to see this jam everyday, I asked the driver that how he would show us the sites like Gulaba, Marhi etc. as promised by Mr. Neeraj, he got angry and started to shout at me and threated me to leave there with my family and drive his taxi alone. My wife got scared and requested him to take us from whichever route he wanted to take and not to leave us in that snow desert of Rohtang, now he took advantage of this situation and started to ask extra money of Rs. 1000/- for taking us from Atal tunnel side, so my wife said take as much money as he want and drive the taxi as soon as possible as the weather was getting bad to worse, thus he cheated and extorted money from us. This incident shocked us and gave mental harassment.
4) I request the concerned authority to take notice of such increasing incidents of cheating, misbehaving and extorting money from the tourists in Manali and save the tourist from such trauma. Was this information helpful? |
