Updated by Abhishek Padmanabhan No one contacted me from
Police or Traffic
Police. I fortunately got through the MTP Helpline number([protected]), and they followed up internally with mailing team to check my mail on multimediacell.[protected]@mahapolice.gov.in
From there, they responded to provide mobile number, and in small font they asked contact Traffic division of Vinoba Bhave Nagar
Police Station. This was confusing. I went to Kurla West Traffic
Police. They helped in checking the E-Challan in their Challan machine, and showed me that photo showed another Regn number, and e-challan was indeed issued WRONGLY against my regn. number. But they said, it was not issued by Traffic
Police side. It was issued by a machine issued to Vinoba Bhave Nagar
Police Station. I went there, and they denied. Later them discussed among themselves, and said, it might have been possible, so to go to Phoenix Mall as their device was in a Patrol Bus, so maybe from there the personnel can help. I went to Phoenix Mall, there they agreed their mistake, but said, they can't do anything, and to go to Worli office of
Mumbai Traffic Police. This is where I got mad. I was told by the Helpline (center from Worli MTP) to contact V.B. Nagar
Police Station, and now these guys were again sending me back to Worli. It was 6 PM by them. I stood there in rain outside Phoenix mall, and called Helpline, after much tries, and multiple redirects, from one number to another, at the end of the chain, I finally got the number of E-Challan office. They also checked the Challan and told to contact V.B. Nagar
Police Station. I told them my ordeal that V.B. Nagar Polcie Station is saying they can't do anything, and I need to go to Worli. So I requested the E-Challan operator to be on hold for sometime, while I call back on V.B. Nagar
Police Station, and get them all on conference. On the Conference, E-Challan operator made them understand that it was their responsibility as mistake has happened from their side. They agreed, and asked me to come back to V.B. Nagar
Police Station and submit an application for cancelling the E-Challan that they issued wrongly on my Vehicle Regn. Number. I wrote an application and gave them. After that I haven't heard back from them.
