Myntra.com — Return request rejected by myntra for a pair of Nike shoes delivered to me in used condition

I received a pair of shoes on 20th of April 2023 and found the box of the shoes in a half torn condition and the Shoes Had stain marks. So I requsted a return and it was picked up on 21st, the next day. In the evening, I received a mail from Myntra that my return request has been cancelled .the query is what are the legitimate steps they are going through and why this harassment for a customer?
