[Resolved] NDTV — SBI customers Account money withdrawn by ATM Switch Centre (04292)
Hi Team, Please bring this topic to your viewers notice. On 5th November 2014 mobile phone someone calls to an old person in a village who has account in SBI and tells him his ATM card will be blocked and they will send new card and they are calling from BANK and innocent villager doesnt understand Cyber CRIME and gives his existing card details and within 20 minutes he looses Rs 50 K even before he reaches to nearest bank to block his account. And then come huge ( or practically negligible) role of Bank manager who says these thing keep happening in bank go and change your ATM pin and you wont get your money. Police doest write an FIR because they are not CYBER CRIMES aware and says you gave your card details so what can we do. Mobile number which was used to call was of IDEA ( An idea can change a villagers life, all his money is gone). I read below article but dont know laws around this. "DIRECT POSTING TO CUSTOMER ACCOUNTS BY ASC ATM Switch Centre (04292) will directly post entries to the customer accounts on account of BROS/SWOS/resolution of customer complaints, wef 21st December 2009. Branches should ensure that entries posted by 04292 branch (ATM Switch Centre) to the customer accounts are properly verified (information will be available in the narrative) by a designated official / employee. In case of any discrepancy, the same may be advised to cms.[protected]@sbi.co.in. Sl. No.: 774/2009 – 10 : Circular No. : IT/GLOBALIT-ATM/26/2009 – 10 dated 18.02.2010 " STATE BANK OF INDIA we need swach banking as well, come clean with these issues and catch culprits.
