I had been paying my income tax against my PAN No. AOBPS5943K in my then name PARAMJIT SINGH since last 9 years.In 2010 i added my surname "BHAMRA" to my existing name "PARAMJIT SINGH" .My name now stands corrected in my service records as PARAMJIT SINGH BHAMRA and applied for the correction in my PAN Card for the same.I had earlier applied for the correction a year earlier too but nothing happed.Once again i applied for correction in November 2010 and it has already been more than 3 months that i have not got any response from the IT department of any sort of cofirmation as to whether i will be now alloted a fresh PAN No. due to the changed surname or should i continue to deposit TDS against my existing PAN No.From the FAQ available on the incometaxindia.gov.in website it is clearly given how the first letter of the individuals surname is a part of the PAN No. that implies that i must be alloted a fresh PAN No. instead on the existing PAN No. I have given a written application to my assessing officer regarding this problem but nothing has been done in this regard this.The assesing officer interestingly refused to accept the printout that i showed him saying "plese contact your assessing officer". I have wasted my 3 full days runing to 3 different IT Offices located at Delhi first at CP,then at ITO to my assesing officer who directed me to RK Puram office the RK puram office again redirected me to the Jhaendewalen office and finally they told that recently the office has been moved to Vaishali,Gaziabad.After all these efforts which have cost me both time & money as no one picks the office no. at most of the IT Offices or the no. posted on the websites are either outdated or non-functional.

What should be my next step to resolve this issue?Is RTI the only last resort i should now opt for?
Please suggest me .

i had applied for pan card in 2007 and i got the pan number also.but till today i did not got the pan card.my pan no. is-AZGPK4706L.after waiting long time i again applied in 2008 but there was no response from your side.then i again applied for duplicate pan card and the acknowledgement no is [protected].the address proof is driving licence and the address mentioned on driving licence is as follows-

given in 2007 when i applied in2007.i am working as a development officer in LIC OF INDIA.i am facing lot of problems in filing my return and other investment.please look into my matter seriously and if i dont get my pan card in 7 days i will complain to the senior authority.

I hv a PRAN No [protected]........... the kit set to me got lost in post......can i get d link to download S2 form........which i presume is d form to get substitute kit containing passwords.........(IPIN)

This is Nilesh Patole contact no.[protected] when went to submit the PAN form to the NSDL centre at Pimpri, PJ Chambers Doshi Associates the concern person incharge rejected the form stating that form downloaded from the net is not accepted. The form should be purchased from them at Rs.5/- and then it will be accepted when i called to mumbai HO they were transfering the line from person to person but no solution. I think so this the could source of income per form Rs.5/- than every citizen will start selling the forms.

I had applied for PRAN [Permanent Retirement Account Number] under the government scheme of NPS and I had got the I-PIN and T-PIN as per norms. But I have not received PRAN Card. I had informed Nodal Office, Chennai and sent mail Customer Care and Raise the Grievence on NSDL web site. They replied me with the speed post No. EM[protected]IN. When I checked this number in online tracking system, it is shwoing undelivered to Delises office (Mumbai). Again I was informed it is undelivered. But they said again we are not received yet. I said you can check on this number in online tracking system.

Since last 2 months i am following up with CRA-NSDL and there is no proper response. Staff at CRA is not taking calls most of the times and if in case they take the calls they are not giving the proper feedback and information on my query. Nobody taking care my complaint. They dont care of the Customer. I am following Customer Care, Grievence, and mail also.
