I received first telephonic call from on 17th july 2019. The person who called me was “shibu pappu saini” from number [protected]. The motive of the call was to enquire some engineering text books available with me for buying when this person has witnessed the ad posted by me in olx app. Since i was very busy in office from back to back meetings i couldn’t even enquire about his background. This person was interested to buy my engineering books and he was really in furious to pay the money through third party app “googlepay” without meeting me face to face, though i kept informing this person to wait for my call back. Later i started enquiring him from which location he/she was calling and got to know from hubli location when they told me. Immediately i was surprised and asked them back, how will you visit my home and carry those books. So next moment they shared me another number who has been called as “rahul” having number [protected]. When i started communicating with this person, he claimed that above person was his dad and he told he don’t have money to pay for books in meeting with face to face with me. So he referred to his dad’s number to get the money. His dad repeatedly kept calling me and asked for googlepay upi id. So i shared upi id with him.
When i finished my office around 4.30, i started communicating with them for payment before lending the books. I’ve shared them my resident address to reach and collect the books. So they start using the upi app and sent me request for payment perhaps they claimed they are using some card transactions. Immediately they linked to payment on some upi id to “[protected]@upi” who payment is linked to paytm account. His name is “ariph”. They don’t know to use googlepay upi. They sent me payment request giving hope that they are paying using some card transactions and asked to do pay option in googlepay app. When they told me that they have card which is showing 5000/- and sent me request for pay, suddenly i went tried paying entering upi pin the amount got debited from my account. Then they tried refunding me that amount but it couldn’t happen. Again same thing they told me to try to do the transaction and again repeated, then 5000/- got debited. So total 10000/- debited from my saving accounts. I shouted them to refund my money back, they are useless doesn’t know to use other than upi apps. They next moment they asked me to share the icici debit card front and back pic through whatsapp believing them that they will refund my money back to my icici account. When they again tried, something they did and i got otp to my mobile number. They asked me to share for refunding it, but my foolishness i’ve shared. The amount got again debited as 5000+4000+1700, total amount of 10700/- from my icici account.
Now i’m in position of losing my money total amount of 20700/- to them. The beneficiary/merchant through paytm account who has received my money called ariph, is not responding to my calls and these two people kept saying that they will refund my money, but failed to get my refund back.
I've filled fir against these scammers attaching all the bank transactions correspondence details.
Hope you will be careful in future if these kind of suspicious calls received, so that if they are fraud and cheaters, other will also be saved from getting cheated.
