[Resolved]  Olx India — very disappointed with olx customer care and its payment model!

Hi OLX management,

Today I purchased a package of Rs399 for 5 free ads from OLX for putting ads for my items however, after posting one ad for Electronic item(Vu smart tv) when I wanted to post another ad for Queen size bed it didn't allow me to do so and was asked to pay Rs399/499 to post ads.

I then called up customer care and had a long conversation with the lady who handled my request. To my utter disdain and surprise I was informed that the package I purchased would only allow me to post electronic and appliances section ads and not any other section like beds & wardrobe or other furnitures items!! This has come to be as a shock since I never knew that OLX packages are for a particular section and not independent of it. Also I feel that with such packages OLX is doing disruptive marketing by binding its users to a clause and not allowing them to post Ads freely irrespective of the sections or type.

Anyways, I was put across to the supervisor Mr.Saman who first agreed to my concerns and also acknowledged that this clause is as per OLX policy. Fine I do understand but then for new users like me this whole system is very complicated and also when I need to put few ads urgently for my household items as I am relocating from Mumbai in a weeks time.

He did offer me 1 free posting for furniture item(Queen bed) but unfortunately that would not solve my problem as I still have 3-4 posting for non-electronic items. I obviously didn't agree to his offer and requested him to either refund my amt package or allow me more ads to post. After much persuasion and disagreement Saman told me that he will revert in 2hrs after discussing my case and arriving at an appropriate solutions.

Unfortunately even after 4 hrs I didn't get to hear from OLX and decided to call customer care and again had to wait for 10 mins before I could speak to Saman. I was surely expecting a positive response and quick resolution after all this delay unfortunately he was rude and did not pay any heed to my request also kept on telling me that 'You should have checked the T&C's and read the policies properly before buying the package'. Also he told me that I never contacted customer care which was absolutely false as I made attempts to reach OLX but due to long waiting I had to disconnect and looks at other alternatives.

I have wasted my entire day trying to get some resolution from OLX and in the process could not post ads of relevance as well! Few questions I would like to ask to OL X. Is this the way OLX tries to help their valued customer?? Shouldn't there me a more flexible policy of allowing users to post ads to any section once you buy a paid package? On the contrary I would like to know how many people actually buy OLX packages and out of that how many are genuine seller/buyers???

I am really very very disappointed with the entire episode and wanted to highlight you my ordeal. Obviously its OLX who calls the shots but you are forgetting that users like me are the ones who keep you in business and help you grow. Today probably you have few disappointed customers but tomorrow the number will rise and it will jeopardise your image and brand you have build up till now. I would also do my bit on social network and word of mouth!

I would end up saying one thing 'PLEASE LEARN TO BE MORE PASSIONATE WITH YOUR CUSTOMER, RESPECT THEM AND SHOW FLEXIBILITY'.
