Dear OYO Team,
I am writing to express my complete outrage and disgust over my recent stay at your listed property Palette Heritage Scindia Ghat, Varanasi (Booking ID: P3RR2014) — an experience so vile and distressing that I’m shocked OYO dares associate its name with such a place.
What was marketed as a professional, comfortable hotel turned out to be a filthy, unhygienic, and grossly misrepresented dump, where basic human decency and standards of cleanliness were absent.
Here is a rundown of the appalling conditions I was subjected to:
Toilet got clogged after one use, and no staff responded despite repeated calls for help.
A live earthworm crawled out of the bathroom, a clear sign of the disgusting neglect.
Lizards roamed freely inside the room, making it impossible to rest or feel safe.
There was no staff available for long durations — it felt abandoned.
Hot water was unavailable most of the time — inexcusable in any hospitality setting.
The hotel falsely advertised a complimentary breakfast, which was never served.
They refused to accept card payments, demanding cash only, which is shady and unprofessional.
Your customer care agent was rude, dismissive, and utterly useless, showing zero concern for a paying customer in distress.
And if that wasn’t bad enough, here’s the worst part:
The location was intentionally concealed. The path to the hotel was a nightmare of filth: narrow, dung-lined alleys crawling with stray dogs, cows, garbage, spit, sewage, and human and animal feces. It was a health hazard just reaching the property.
OYO never warned about this toxic, filthy access route. No disclaimers. Just deceptive marketing.
After enduring this toxic environment, I was forced to return home sick due to the filthy air and conditions. We were so exhausted and disgusted by the experience that we were unable to even take pictures — the clogged toilets and filth were too revolting to document. The shock and sheer revulsion left us drained beyond words.
Despite booking and paying for 3 nights, we left after just 2. I requested a refund for the unused third night, only to face indifference and incompetence from your support.
I demand the following — not request:
1. Immediate refund for the unused 3rd night.
2. A formal apology from OYO for this disgraceful service and negligence.
3. Swift action to review and delist this property, preventing other customers from suffering the same fate.
If I do not receive a response within 72 hours, I will take this public — on Google Reviews, TripAdvisor, social media, travel forums, and consumer grievance platforms. I will also escalate to consumer protection authorities and the Ministry of Tourism.
This was the worst hotel experience of my life, and if this is OYO’s standard, your brand’s reputation is at serious risk.
Fix this. Fast.
