Even after repeated follow ups, I have not been able to get a response on the status of my passport.
Can I expect a response? Being a citizen of India I have to wait for more than a Year now to get my passport.

Even after the same and unlimited followup mails I have not got a status of my passport. To add more worry to the same I dont see the status on the status page online.

Error shown online is as follows:
File Reference Number (A[protected] of chd) is either wrong or Information NOT available
Please help get my passport at the earliest, my husband has kept his travel on hold because of my passport.

I had applied for passport on 28/05/2008 and have completed all the process of providing the documents and also police verification. But still from past 2 months the status shows the same i.e "Your police verification have been received, file is in progress". Even the status is not changed and also either the passport is not received yet.

I have applied for passort on 30th Oct 08 and completed the police verification on 27th Nov 08. I have not yet received my passport and on the application status it is saying "police verification report has not been received". But i have enquired and they said it is dispatched on 5 Dec 08. Please let me know when I will receive my passport.

I had applied for a new passport from Bhopal Passport office on 04/12/2008 . My Passport file no. File Ref. No. : a[protected]. The status has been Your file is under processing and Police Report Not Received for quite a long time. Chhindwara Police says that they had sent the report. I don't know where is the problem. I don't even know where is my document lying so that i can track my passport.
Please look into the matter as my job requires a passport and I lost many opportunities because of this passport problem.

This too have happened with me. I had applied in the dadar passport office but even after 15-20 days no one from the police came to us for an enquiry or police verriifcation. So we went to the passport application office at samta nagar, kandivali police station. The policeman at the station asked for a bribe which we didn't pay thinking he might ask for a higher price. so we went away. After 15-20 more days when the policeman didn't come to our house for verification we went to the station and this time i paid him 300 rupees which he quickly took under the table. After paying this amount my process started and i recieved the new paassport after 3 weeks.

So, i would suggest that you go to the police stattion where you have applied for pasport and pay the policeman 200-300 rupees as i feel the corruption is never going and you have to wait for life time to get your passport.

i have issued my passport last week. But i have noticed that in my name there is a spelling mistake. My actual name is VIJAYBABU, In the passport application also i gave the correct name. But in the Passport they wrote as VIJAYABABU instead of VIJAYBABU. They Added one more "A" in my name.so please help me how to correct the spelling mistake in my name.

job searching — problem og getting my passport

This is PraveenMasthan.O.I applied for my passport in the month of[protected] and my file reference number is HYD-Z[protected].Sir while applying my passport i kept my permanent address which is guntur and iam staying dere it self .And in the month of April i went to hyd to attend an interview in that period police people came to verification and my parents told them that i am staying in hyd and they given the address which in hyd .so police people writte that iam staying in hyd since last year .But actually iam not staying in hyd and i am staying in my native GUNTUR only from last one and half year .After that i receved a notice from Regional passport office in that they mention to re-submit the ppf forms and certificates this one taken place in the month of july.from that time i dint get any result regarding to my passport .Now plz suggest me what to do and how to get my passport as soon as possible plz help and for me and i have noo other way also

I am also facing similar issue, onlydifference there is adverse police verification mentioning thatI am not residing at the place... but the real surprise is that in case of renewal there is no police verification if you are mentioning the same address but police verification was done post issue of passport.

And I just happened to be not there at my location for last 3-4 months.

Due to alleged police negligence received show cause notice to surrender my passport

Hi I'm Vijaymanoj i applied passport on tatkal basis since my job profile is not good upto the earning markings.Besides resigning my job i applied passport on tatkal and recieved in next 3working days after which i was called for police verification.During that time i went to madras in search of job hunt.when the police personal questioned me about the whereabouts for being my absence in permanent address i clearly given the fact and the truth and the address of the place i went to.Despite of the facts given police personal has given the wrong adverse report stating applicant is not residing at the permanent address.

Should not the government authorities be sacked for their negligence spoiling our career and future

I have also got similar issue asking me to surrender my passport. Can you please post what happened after that as it might help me and others to tackle the situation.

Similar thing has happened with me as well. can somebody please help. I had also applied for passport in Patna. I have got a show cause after 6 months of getting my passport through tatkal scheme.

I too have received such letter from passport office to surrender my passport within 15 days. And the interesting fact is that its now been more then 30 months and I already have went abroad for two times. Now they makeup and saying you are culprit. All management.

Dear Sir,
I have applied for my newly born son's passport on 6th April 2011. (File no. is J007223 applied in Thane office). It was confirm my passport authorities in Thane that the passport will be delivered in 45 days time. which means I should have the passport recieved by 21st May 2011.

Today when I am writing this letter it is already 6th June 2011 However I have not yet recieved the passport in hand.

When I enquired I understood that the passport has been sent for Police verification. Then I immidiately cleared the verification on 28th May 2011 and was expecting to reciev the passport. However when I followed up with Passport office they said they have still not recieved the police verification report. When I went to Police station on 5th June 2011, the file water still lying at there desk. There seems to be no coordination between the police station and passport office.

Kindly request to help provide me the Passport in hand immidiately
