Passport Office Kolkata — Police verification asking for money

Address: Dum Dum police station

My wife had been called for police verification to Dum Dum police station .
Despite of submitting all required documents he is asking to pay ₹ 3000/-
As we didn’t agree to he has taken all documents and just coming to come tomorrow.
There were few other people who were also struggling and crying to get the verification done.
Please let us know how should we handle this

if you are confident on your documentation, just tell them i don't need passport, and try to record the incident secretly. This will help the Govt to identify these people. They will surely take action. Yes. They will. I tried once and I got help.
