Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Failure of Bus No. PB02EG8158 to Stop at Kot Ise Khan Bus Stop and Serious Risk to Passenger Safety
Respected Sir/Madam,
I wish to lodge a formal complaint regarding Bus No. PB02EG8158, operating on the route from Patti Bus Stand to Delhi.
On the concerned journey, the bus failed to stop at the designated Kot Ise Khan Bus Stop. Instead, the driver stopped the bus behind the main chowk and asked passengers to get down at an unsafe location. When the bus was about to leave, several passengers had to run towards the bus and board it.
This situation created a serious and avoidable risk to the lives and safety of the passengers. While running towards the bus, the passengers' attention was focused on boarding the bus, leaving them vulnerable to being hit by other vehicles at the busy chowk. A serious road accident could easily have occurred in these circumstances.
The responsibility for any accident or injury arising from such unsafe stopping and boarding of passengers could potentially have fallen upon the driver and conductor, who are expected to ensure the safe boarding and alighting of passengers.
When the driver and conductor were questioned regarding their conduct, they did not provide any satisfactory or reasonable explanation.
Designated bus stops are provided precisely to ensure that buses stop at safe and appropriate locations and that passengers can board and alight safely. Stopping the bus away from the designated bus stop, particularly near a busy chowk, unnecessarily exposes passengers to significant danger.
I therefore respectfully request the competent authority to:
Conduct an inquiry into the incident involving Bus No. PB02EG8158.
Obtain and examine the relevant GPS/route records and, if available, CCTV footage of the bus and the location.
Verify why the bus did not stop at the designated Kot Ise Khan Bus Stop.
Issue strict instructions to the concerned driver and conductor to stop the bus only at designated and safe bus stops.
Take appropriate departmental action if any negligence or violation of operating instructions is established.
Ensure that all passengers are allowed to board and alight from the bus safely and without being exposed to unnecessary traffic hazards.
Public transport is provided for the convenience and safety of the general public. Passengers have a legitimate right to use government/public transport services in a safe, orderly and dignified manner.
I request the concerned authorities to treat this complaint seriously and take appropriate preventive measures so that such an incident does not occur again and the safety of passengers is not compromised.
