Qatar Airways — lost/theft of items from checked in bag

Address:Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, 689614

This comment is to notify about a pilferage that happened whilst flying from usa to india on march 3rd. My name is vishnu vijayan padinjattedathu a noble nri working in the united states for the past 2 years. This vacation from march 1st i decided to take qatar airways from orlando international airport (Mco) to thiruvanathapuram international airport (Trv) with layovers in newyork (Jfk) and in doha (Doh).

It was really shocking when i reached my home and opened my bags i couldn't believe myself that all of things from my bags were missing. I had left with some chocolates and my cloths. As the bags were intact and unopened when i received it in trv airport i didn't doubt anything. My option was only to contact qatar airways and inform about the theft happened as per their request i made out a list of things which i was missing from the bags and i filed a formal complaint with them. After 5 days of contacting them and sending them e-mails they responded that i don't have any claim regarding the matter and that was really heart breaking for me as i was completely helpless that time. I was missing around 1100$ around 70, 000 rs valued items from my bags. I tried contacting them again and they sent me an email saying the same that i don, t have a claim also the reason they put up was that i did not report the theft in the airport (How is it even possible to report when i didn't open my bags in the airport?). Now that they are not taking any responsibility of my bags i wanted to take this to an higher level just to make sure that this does not happen to any of my brothers/sisters who travel from abroad.

For that reason i really plead this complaint to be taken seriously and any action required to be taken from your behalf.
