I'm Saravanan. I also received similar email today. I stayed in Pune 10 years back and I have closed all connections before I left.

Why on a sudden email like this?

It is very annoying.

This is what I received as well, I just want to make sure if this is true.

I also received a similar email from a personal id. The person named Irfan called me & when I crossed questioned him about the whereabouts of the legal company - name and address - he disconnected my call.

I checked the landline number on trucaller and some 304 people have reported that as a spam.

Customer care has no clue about this.

I have also received a similar mail. Surprising part is they have the address where I stayed some years back with reliance customer number(CAF). I am guessing they have got their hands on the returned mails of reliance if this is a scam. Has anyone got any resolution from reliance yet ? I have written to [protected]@relianceada.com today but haven't heard anything yet.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Under Instruction from and on behalf of my client Reliance Communication having its office at KUBERA PARK, A1/B18, NEAR LULLA NAGAR CHOWK, KONDHWA, PUNE 411 048

1.My client is in the business of providing Telephone/Data Card service, and you have availed the services, from my client signing the CAF FORM hereinafter referred to as “the Agreement”. As per the terms and conditions of the Agreement, you had undertaken to make prompt payments as and when due for the services rendered by my client and availed by you from time to time.

2. My Client further states that as per the running account maintained by My client total principal amount of Rs. 912 /- is outstanding against your, CAF No:- XXXXXXXXXXX567, My Client herein has infom time to time requested you to clear the outstanding amount. But on one or the other pretext, you have avoided paying the said outstanding amount to my client.

3. My client further states that they were persistently requesting you to clear the said amount, and thereafter my client has arranged a Pre Litigation Lok-adalat 20(2) of Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 for final determination on Saturday 09/04/2016 from 11.00 am onwards. Legal Authority of India issued a Notice to you by post, and the aforesaid notice was duly received by you. (LOK-ADALAT NOTICE)

4. You have duly received the Lok-Adalat notice but you neither appeared for Lok-Adalat in court nor do you pay any amount to my client. My client states that, in spite of repeated requests, reminders and demands by my client you have willfully and/or deliberately failed, neglected and refused, with malafide intention, to make payment of the said outstanding dues, in the manner and within the time stipulated as per the business norms and/or agreement and as such committed gross breach/default in due performance and observance of the terms and conditions of the agreement, further to which my client is left with no other choice but to initiate appropriate civil and criminal proceeding against you.

I received similar email for an account closed more than 3-4 years back. I see email is sent ID cro.[protected]@gmail.com which does not look authentic.

Reliance team - if this is authentic email, please send it from your official ID and as well as send the bill which is unpaid. CAF[protected]. Also forward what kind of communication (phone/mail) you have done till now to tell us about the bill. ALso explain why the mail is sent after so long. Without proper information we cannot take any legal response.
