Respected Sir/Madam,
I would like to register a complaint regarding a mobile number issued by Reliance Jio, which was registered in the name of my late relative (uncle’s brother). The subscriber has passed away, and there are no direct children/legal heirs.
The SIM card associated with this number was also lost/stolen along with the mobile device. This number is very important for family and personal reasons.
I have approached the local Jio store to request re-issuance or assistance in recovering the number. However, I have not received any proper response or support from them. My request has been ignored/denied without clear guidance on the legal process for succession.
I am willing to provide necessary documents such as:
Death certificate of the subscriber
My identity proof
Proof of family relationship
Any legal heir/succession documents as required
Despite this, no proper assistance has been provided by the service provider.
Request:
I kindly request TRAI to intervene and direct the service provider to:
-Provide proper guidance for re-issuance of the number
-Consider my request as per telecom regulations for deceased subscriber cases
-Prevent misuse of the said mobile number
-Ensure fair grievance handling as per telecom consumer protection rules
-I am ready to comply with any required verification process.
