Reliance Trends — misleading consumer offer

Dear Sir,

Today 28/ 09/ 2018 I visited Reliance Trends store in Towlichowki, Shaikpet, Hyderabad, Telangana area. In the store everywhere they had a display boards showing an offer for a gift item ( Pigeon Mixer) on the shopping of amount Rs.5000. Other than of that there was a continuous announcement in the store through a CD player I recon for the same offer.

The offer attracted me and I almost spent two and half hours to choose all desired clothes to avail the offer. As soon as I reached the counter I was told that Because I did shopping for Rs. 5786, I am eligible for the gift. Then I was told that at the moment the gift is not in the stock so as soon as it arrives I will be called and I can then visit the store again to collect my gift.

I was a bit shocked. I asked the girl on the counter that you are cheating with your customer. If you do not have the gift available then you have no right to advertise it on the every corner of your store. I wasted my two and half hour in selecting the clothes and now you are telling me that the gift item is not available. If you can not provide the gift then kindly discount the same amount from my final bill. She then told me that it was not possible. I requested to call the manager of the store so that I could have a word with him.

In few minutes the Manager Mr. Ganesh came. As soon as I told about the situation he told me the same issue that the gift item is not in the stock and as soon as it will come in the stock we would call you. I then asked them that why can't they discount the money from my total bill if the gift item is not in stock. I was again told the same issue that it's a complimentary item and we are not allowed to give any discounts on the bill.

I find all this very very annoying and cheating to the customer. Reliance is a big name and should have no reason to mislead it's customers. How can the store advertise for something which is not even available? I request to the Reliance company to kindly provide me the amount of the gift item as a refund in my bank account or send the gift item to my home address as soon as possible. I have no intention to visit the Reliance store again for collecting the gift spending 600 on taxi or for shopping again. You have not only lost a customer but also the trust of many other customers through me. I request you to kindly solve the issue at your earliest else I will be forced to take the matter to consumer court.

Very poor service. No reply from Reliance at all. They are cheating with their customers and are not even bothered by any legal actions against them. I am very much prepared to take the case to consumer court.
