[Resolved]  Relief India Trust — They are frauds

Address:Chennai, Tamil Nadu

Total scam. A fraud trust which plays the trick of emotional blackmail. Do not get deceived by their "Sympathizing phone calls" as if they are the only saviors of the needy. I'll share my own experience towards the end of this comment. Before that some facts : 1) Firstly they are not a registered NGO. Any registered NGO can be validated in the indian government website http://ngo.india.gov.in They are not registered, hence you won't find any NGO registration number in their website. 2) When they are not a registered NGO, they cannot claim to provide tax exemption under Under Section 80 G. But you'll notice in their website that they claim donations given to them are exempted from 80G. Now my experience : I got a call from so-called-student volunteer named "Rakhi" from a number +91-[protected]. I'm at Chennai and i get a call from Noida person at 3:25PM stating my name and city correctly. After she introduces herself and the trust, she pitches into pleading mode asking me to be a life savior of a child who needs urgent money for his treatment. She says every day they go to hospital at 3:30PM to hand-over the money, so she insists me to pay me immediately as the time is close to 3:30PM. She says all that before even i express my interest to donate. She was in such a hurry to show me their website in-order to prove their organization's legitimacy. My obvious first question was how did she get my number for which the response is "through sources". If they are so legitimate, why can't they reveal what source it is? She wanted me to check the site right away when she is on the line. when i check the site, the first thing i notice is, there is no NGO registration number anywhere on the site. Even if they had one, i would have validated it in the indian government's site. So i end the call saying "i am not interested as i'm already committed to other NGOs locally at chennai ". Thats it, she becomes furious and starts the emotional blackmail saying "Shame on you, Shame on you" repeatedly. Why the HELL should i donate to such a trust who can't take a simple NO, NOT INTERESTED reply.

Even I am receiving calls frequently to donate the amount to a sick child Ravi, admitted in AIIMS, Delhi. The NGO needs some 2 lacs for the treatment. Everyday they call from some new no. [protected], [protected], [protected], etc...I think some action must be taken to stop this nuisance...

I am also a recipient of their frequent calls. Am not sure whether they are genuine. They have given me copy of their
80 G order from Income Tax Department. Had donated last year to them. Don't think, I shall do so in future.

There are frauds, i too received a call([protected]) stating that only 50, 000 INR is required for surgery of a child and i should pay at least 1000 INR to help the child.
I too got a call asking to save a baby of 18 months. Initially i accepted and did a transfer of 500 to it. The transaction was failed. When they call me next time, I tried and its failed. They told me to make it in 4 digit. Minimum amount of Rs.1100.

I am daily receiving call for the same baby name. Initially they told me they baby is going for surgery 4 days back. Even today I am getting call for same baby.

The number is [protected]
I received a call this morning from a lady named Shweta Pandey from Relief India Trust, Noida Sector III. The phone number was [protected]. Now as mentioned above, the lady wanted me to check their website immediately. She was definitely in a hurry. The patient's name was Anuj Kumar suffering from Blood Cancer.

I was given a good emo trip almost bordering on guilt that I was about to donate. Now, she wanted me to donate immediately since the kid's operation will take place at 1 pm. She even wanted to know what amount I would donate as she would then update the 'Database' . I have never come across such aggressiveness in these matters. Thats when I decided to do some background search and asked for time. I was still feeling very guilty.

One google search gave me tons of blogs and complaints in their name. Wow. In the meanwhile I also received a sms- "Have u donated or nt plz reply" from a different number now - [protected]

My question...Isn't it time, the authorities start looking into this scam? This is huge if true. And going on right under their nose.
Even i am receiveing callls franatcially from them. I even doanted once. But i am not sure if its an organisation to trust. Yesterday was height they smsed me back that ur afarud lady and god will see...

I dont think any NGO will dare to talk like this...[protected] is the no i had been getting calls
I completely agree...they are a FRAUD company. They don't have any registration number and they are in a hurry to show you the website and make donations. More surprising is that any 3 digit donations don't get accepted (didnt know such things existed when you want to donate).

The PD[censored]ploaded for Anuj Kumar who they claim is getting treated in AIIMS under Dr. Sameer Bakshi may/may not be true...I called AIIMS however due to Ram Navmi the offices were closed and they asked me to call on[protected] to confirm the patient details.

Even during today's call, the lady named Ishika ([protected]) told me that they got my number when I would have donated blood to Red Cross or any Rotary Club, whereas in reality she didn't know my name nor the source as well.

If we ever want to donate for such patients, one should personally visit the hospital and do the needful...many a times, because of the tax exemption we also get lured by such FRAUD companies.

NEVER NEVER donate to anyone if you ever receive such calls
I got a call from Monika and then another man the following day from Relief India Trust, Asking for donation for the same child 'Anuj Kumar' who is in 'urgent' need of treatment. They used sentences like, 'what is the use if the life cannot be saved and it is too late'. 'The money is needed urgently'. They have been calling and smsing repeatedly despite my requesting them not to call and I will donate through the website if I wish to. They could not tell me where they got my number from. I got a similar vague reply that someone must have given it while attending their blood donation camp in Delhi. I don't know anyone in Delhi so that statement is far from true.
I did not make any donation upon searching online and coming across this forum and others.
From March 25 in a comment above to 11th April, this child 'Anuj Kumar' who is in need o[censored]rgent help, supposedly hasn't received any. I have read the same name Anuj Kumar mentioned in many other older complaints too.
The number I got calls from was [protected]
Relief India Trust has given their bank details in their websites and all the bank accounts are savings bank account. I am not sure whether a NGO can open a savings bank account in their name or not, I think it must be a current account. I have asked them to send an email from their domain mentioning all the details along with child name and bed number of AIMS so that I can verify through one of my friend who is a doctor in AIMS. But they have not sent any email till now and repeatedly claiming that my mail is bouncing again and again. I am sure its a total fraud. Please take necessary action.
Even Today, I got similar call from a lady name Monica Raturi ([protected]) and she said they have an NGO name reliefindiatrust.co.org. Then she said a child is suffering from blood cancer and need urgent help. So they need 2 lakhs for the treatment of which they were able to collect 1.8 lakhs and have shortage of 20k. All she said is she a student and associated with the NGO. Feels to be not a proper NGO as NGO does not call any body and just ask for money. All NGO's generally run in a similar manner is to collect fund from proper source and support their cause.
This call looks to be a fraud and beware of such emotional traps. Donating is good but always it should be done into some proper hand where it will be used in a proper manner.
I too got call today at around 5 pm regarding a child called Anuj. They asked me to transfer some money as the child is getting operated at 8 PM.I told her to call me after 1 hour, after that she dropped me an emotional message. The emotional trap designed on me made me restless and hence thought to do some research on Internet and I am here. This might be case of fraud.
Dear All,

I cross checked with AIIMs on number[protected] which is for patients and it seems to be true. They have a patient with name Anuj Kumar treated by Dr. Bakshi. You can also cross check by telling the RCH No: 160506.

But, definitely the way they are asking money is ridiculous.Everyone is saying that operation will start in 2 hours with emotional dialogues.Best way is to go and directly help them.
I received a call from a lady Sandhya Negi - mobile number [protected]. To help a 2 year old Pratigya Kumari.
They were going on and were emotionally black mailing me to make a donation. The urgency to visit their website and it has to be done today itself. I asked how they got my number, they said from "our sources", Going on about please sir be a saviour to the child.
The credibility is at question. They are not registered with India Government NGO's as well. Fraud!
Police and court action must be taken against them.
i received a call yesterday evening around 5:30, when I was in a conversation. I took the call, heard the person (john) talk nonsense for a while, asking me to let him tell about this 2 yr old girl, daughter of a labour who has cancer, and needs chemo therapy. He asked me to logon to the a website so that he can explain me something. I told him i do not have a system to logon to. So he asked me to write down the detials where to make the payment. I asked him to sms me the details to cut him off.
He did send me a SMS with details, and i sent him a SMS telling htat I have made the payment, I block his num.

This morning, I got a call from some another number, I received as it would be some imp call, I hear John, he start ' madam, Humble request, to donate, could you please make the payment. I wanted to cut him off so I told Wrong number. he started shouting at me, telling me to be ashamed, and how dare I not help some poor gal. etc etc. Then I google'd this trust to check the reviews, and I see these complaints.

Here are the numbers from which I received the calls, [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected]. I sent them a msg again asking htem not to call me as they were threatening me to donate, and it seemed like them want the money and not help anyone. I immediately get a call from John, telling me why you cant donate, I can see that you have not made any payments, I am sitting here and checking all the transaction ID's i want you to make the payment now.

I sent them the first link i found about them via sms, and To be sure that i file a proper complaint, i called them back (now they knw that I knw about their foist) started disconnecting my call. but one guy took my call. I told him I want to make a donation, he asked me the amount, for which baby, which bank, etc etc. they are mostly stupid and adamant on online banking. I dodged by telling tat I will post them a cheque. as him to send me their address.

I think its time we get this harassment / extortion stopped.
The Patient's name and his/her credentials are generally true but these people from so called NGOs never transfer money to the needy patients but only use their name to get money. Such people should be prosecuted and brought to law.

If one is really eager to donate money they should call AIIMS authorities and DIRECTLY transfer money in patient's account.

Please don't get fooled by such filthy people.
I received a call from someone stating he is a student and for patient ''Anchal Yadav". I almost donated them the amount, first time it stuck, second time it just struck me to do a background check on them... and I landed here. After reading all these comments I deduce that these people are somehow luring original needy patients into parting with their original patient data and reports on assurance of helping them. But that they are using it to scam money from people. That humanity can drop to such lows disgust me, I used to be a trusting person before this incident :(.
Phone number the calls came from: [protected], [protected]
I too receive a call from someone named Amit ([protected]) and saying all that mentioned in above comments. This time name of the patient is Pratigya Kumari whose Father is a labour. She is also treated by same Doctor Sameer Bakshi. He told me that the girl is suffering from blood cancer. He too was in hurry to show me the website. I ask for all the details and told him that i myself will go and check and call him if i wanted to help.
Hello Friends,

I received a call from the same Person named Amit for Pratigya from the same number [protected].. Even after saying them a number of times that I am travelling continuously they are following up with me...I Foolishly forwarded the mail to my Friends so that they could help her but then the same story...they wanted me to make a payment using my phone if I am travelling...
Now some questions that arise in my mind...

1) Why is no one taking an action against such frauds
2) why is that there is only one Doctor Sameer Bakshi who is treating all the patients
3) How do they get our number,
4) When they said the operation was going to be commenced on 29th July 2014 then why are they following up even after the operation date...
5) I had seen a name Anuj Kumar for whom the operation is going on for 3 months and still people are receiving calls on his name
extremely hostile people, once u say u r not able to finacially help. they will start abusing you. i think no genuine trust can do this. u r claiming to help people by terrorizing other people.
Today, I got a similar call from a lady name "Some" Prakash ([protected]) and she said they have an NGO name reliefindiatrust.co.org. Then she said a child is suffering from blood cancer and need urgent help. So they need 2 lakhs for the treatment of which they were able to collect 1.8 lakhs and have shortage of 20k. Child name Pratigya Kumari. She said is she is a volunteer and associated with the NGO. They needed 1400 for medical bills by today. Also chemo happens every tuesday and it is URGENT. The caller / volunteer was very decent sounding, but I was somewhat hesitant. I said I will check and donate by end of day. Some research online showed cases of similar incidents, but their website is well made AND shows scanned images of hospital reports of the child Pratigya. Though I was prepared to donate the money I was being cautious because the site might not be HTTPS secure; but the site was secure. Now I have made the payment, hope the money goes to a good cause. :) I will update the progress.
