My mother has to undergo kidney stone procedure.
We are advised not to take any food and water, so we followed the same. And got admitted in morning all formalities are done, and we are waiting for them to start procedure.
It's been more than 3 hours when we're advised to be ready to be called in OT, but no call was received. On asking again and again they said, doctors are busy with other cases. But when I went to the operation theater floor, I found that all the staff including senior most dr are having a birthday party.

Furthermore, when my mother brought back to room after her surgery, a pile of files and documents was lying right on her abdomen.
She was under anesthesia, and this is how they treat unconscious patients. When I objected then everyone kept blaiming each other rather than apologizing and accepting.

      Dear concerned,

This is to draw your attention towards the fact that my father mr. Harinder singh arora was admitted to rg stone urological and laparoscopy hospital, faridabad on 17/05/19 at 10.30am. My father was diagnosed with gall bladder stone with the condition that the visibility of the gall bladder is minimal. We were consulting dr. Pankaj gupta at the aforementioned hospital and during the course of consultation he advised us for the surgery.

Since my father was admitted based on the pre-approval of inr 45267 from you, the insurance service provider, we thought of going ahead and getting the surgery done. The surgeon performed the in-house ultra-sound and ecg along with other mandatory tests to ascertain that the external scans/reports can be trusted. The surgeon dr. Pankaj gupta made sure that his in-house reports must be present before he is good to go.

      Operation day:
On the day of surgery i. E. 17/05/19 it was told that my father should be fasting and must not eat anything till 2.30pm since the operation is to be performed. The time was then delayed to 4pm then to 5pm and finally he was taken to the operation theatre at 6.45pm. All this while he was fasting and the operation wasn’t performed. We cooperated all this while since we had no other option. After 30 minutes of taking my father to ot, the doctor called upon my mother and my father’s friend to clarify the situation. The doctor explained that it is not feasible to go ahead with the surgery and there were much more complications if we go ahead, the major being poor visibility of gall bladder. Well if we throw light on this case’s history then it is clear that the gall bladder’s visibility was always in question. The doctor instead of highlighting his incompetence and incapability to perform this surgery, forget whether it will be successful or not, arm-twisted the whole fact only to present to the relatives available in the ot that the said surgery can turn into a matter of life or death. My question here is that what will a normal person with his best sense of judgement would do if being exposed to such a situation? It wasn’t a must-do-surgery for my dad which can’t be averted. Rather we relied on the fine sense of judgement of the doctor, whom we regard as god in such instances, to decide for us. By this time my father was given anesthesia and his belly was torn to make way for the surgical pipes and instruments but still the doctor was unsure whether he will do the surgery or no. The doctor decided not to go ahead while claiming, “this is the second surgery of my life which i am letting it go” and “this case is so complicated that either you go to any part of the world no doctor would dare to touch it.” and this is what he did.

Upon a mutual agreement, which was a life-threatening option given by dr. Pankaj gupta, my father was sent to the patient’s room again. To our amaze after 3 days of stay at the hospital we were told to pay inr 32600 as the final bill to discharge the patient. We were expecting it to be an error on the part of hospital as our admission was permissible and covered by our insurance provider. The shocker came when the hospital presented us with the denial of insurance notification.

It is my prayer to read what i am writing now carefully to adjudge who is at fault?

      1. The doctor exhibited his incompetency to perform the surgery and stepped back.
      2. The doctor in his report has claimed that my mother and my dad’s friend denied to go ahead whilst he forgot that we came to the hospital to get operated and not for a luxurious stay.
      3. The doctor presented the report of the external pathological lab about the gall bladder stone and position while fails to provide the in-house report. Meaning he has two reports in front of him to ascertain whether to move forward or no. The doctor has a poor sense of decision making and judgement and i demand he must be ripped off his license.
      4. If at all we are wrong and the doctor is right in all of the above, don’t you think it was doctor’s/hospital staff’s duty to inform us that once we let you go out of the ot and non-performance of operation moving forward the expenses will be incurred by patient or his family. We were not under the impression that such a situation may occur.

We demand strictest of the action against the doctor and the hospital for such a case of medical negligence.

The hospital may also leave no stone unturned to claim for this value from insurance rather than sitting quiet. The people are crooked and it gives a feel that you have entered a money-hungry organization and not a hospital. I have all the proofs to show in the court of law and bring this hospital to justice.

If i may be cheated just imagine what would they do to the poor and the people who are deprived of knowledge/education.

This hospital is surely in a business of cheating and ripping off people of their hard earned money. I will take this matter to the highest of the authorities to suspend their medical license and mend their ways of money making.

      Thanks but no thanks!
