I am filing this complaint against Royal Enfield regarding their Himalayan 411 motorcycle, which I purchased in good faith as a capable touring and off-road bike. However, my experience has been nothing short of frustrating and unsafe due to extremely poor build quality, recurring mechanical failures, and the company’s complete lack of responsibility.
Despite the bike having done only 30, 000 km, and never having met with any accident, I have had to spend over ₹35, 000 on repairs in the past year alone. The major issues include:
Engine valve assembly failure
Complete fuel pump assembly replacement
Handlebar replaced three times due to its inability to withstand normal Mumbai roads
What’s most concerning is a serious safety hazard I encountered recently: the stock rear rack of the bike broke while riding, causing my newly installed, empty (under 10kg) aluminium top box to fly off the motorcycle. This could have resulted in a major accident for anyone behind me. It is absolutely unacceptable for a motorcycle marketed as an "off-road adventure tourer" to be this fragile and unsafe.
This is clearly a case of substandard materials, poor engineering, and misleading marketing. Royal Enfield has not acknowledged any of these issues or offered meaningful support or compensation. I have now decided to scrap the vehicle as I no longer consider it safe for use. Was this information helpful? |
