[Resolved] Royaloak India — Damaged sofa set | |||
This is regarding a purchase of a sofaset SF-27 on 14th June 2014 from a very well known chain showroom of Royaloak, Marathahalli, Bangalore. Total cost was of INR 54000/-(an amount more than my 1 month takehome salary) In-fact this was the last fresh piece that they had and since I liked this I immediately purchased it. The purchase was based on the display piece. They do not allow to see the fresh piece unless delivered. 2 days after the delivery guys came and delivered in my house. Upon delivery I found that the sofa has multiple damages in it as below. 1) 3 Seater – Torn from back side. 2) 3 Seater – Left arm is damaged, the wood in it is visible. 3) 3 Seater – Left arm wood is broken. 4) 3 Seater – Left arm side cover is damaged. 5) 3 Seater – Back cover has come out. 6) 2 Seater – Back side is completely torn. 7) 2 Seater – Right side legs are not present. 8) 1 Seater – 1 bullet is broken. By seeing all these I also did not sign on the counter foil of the delivery reciept provided by them. I asked the delivery guys about this and they said that this is what they got from the ware house. I called up Pavithra(the customer care representative), she said she will revert back in 2 minutes and did not even back till I called them back the next day. By the time I would decide to not to accept the delivery, the delivery guys had fled away. I kept on calling thier cc executive till today(email communications are also there). They are not willing to take the damaged sofa back. After a long argument they have agreed to do a replacement with some other product of the same cost, since, they do not have fresh piece of this. But I liked this one only. Had I liked something else, I would have purchased that. I can not guarantee whether I will be able to buy something of the same cost as costs differ from choices to choices. I am requesting them to do a reversal transaction of the amount and take their scrap. But they are very adamant and rude now, as if the fault is mine. I do not understand what is my fault here. I paid for something and did not get it and now forced to buy something else of the same cost. And one more issue I want to bring to your notice is that these people are not providing bills to the customers. They just give a estimated cost and say this is the final bill. They are faking tax and making black money out of it. I am totally mentally harassed and stressed. As a middle class family man, 54000/- is too much for me. I have been spending a lot on making phone calls to them also wasting time in writing emails. My wife is also very unhappy because of this. Entire family is tensed because of this. No mental peace with out having done anything wrong or any fault from myside. I please want to get my money back and let them take their product back. Please help me.
