Safexpress Packers & Movers — complaint against fraud and non-repayment

There is a packers and movers company going by the name of safexpress packers and movers. I had shifting requirements from delhi to patna; they were contacted by me on 14th july, 2018 for the same. Upon confirmation of the amount payable and delivery date, i assigned them the said work. Next morning, they collected my goods from my location in lajpat nagar-4, new delhi. These included:
1) 24 inch sony led television
2) 4 cardboard boxes with different items packed in them (Books and miscellaneous items)
3) a bag and blanket packed together
4) a travel luggage
5) two mattresses with two sleepwell pillows packed together
6) a cloth stand
7) a set of bathroom articles.
They are a total of 10 individual items.

The one responsible of this company, kuldeep singh (Contact number - [protected]) is a sweet talking fraud. His men took my goods from my location on 15th july, 2018; saying it will be dispatched for patna earliest by 18th july, 2018. So, they asked me to hurry up and pay them by the said date or the goods won’t be dispatched. So i made a payment of rs. 9, 750 (As agreed upon, inclusive of all charges) to kuldeep singh’s account (A/c number[protected]; ifsc code - cnrb0004751) through imps from my account, bearing a/c number - 071401xxxxxx, with reference id - 819916xxxxxx on 18th of july, 2018 at 16:02:52 ist, which was confirmed by him through a whatsapp message on the same day.

The goods were not dispatched and upon calling and confirming status of my consignment, he made a different excuse every day. The complete month of july just passes up like that. Upon calling him, he always said that the good will be reaching in 2 days or so each time. On 28th of the same month, he messaged me on whatsapp saying my good will be arriving within 3-4 days. Upon contacting on the fourth day, he again came up with his 2 day excuse. Ultimately on 11th of august, he said the driver in the neighboring city and will be reaching next morning. The driver reached on 13th of august in the evening at my location. A lot of problems were created from his side as goods of two parties had reached on the same day. Upon arrival at my location, good 1 (Led tv) amounting to rs. 15, 500 and good 5 (Mattresses with pillows) amounting to rs. 3, 500 were not there. They remaining items were in a very poor condition. The cloth stand (Rs. 2000) had its bars bent, the travel luggage (Rs. 3000) was torn at places and is not in a usable condition, the cardboard boxes were torn up at places and blanket was damaged but still usable. Some of my clothes, summing up to around rs. 2, 000 were badly damaged and i had to throw them away.

Upon confirming with the driver (Contact number - [protected]/[protected]) about the missing items, he said that he is not a driver under kuldeep singh and works for a different packers and movers company. He said that he received a total of 12 items from kuldeep singh on 9th of august, 2018, out of which 4 items were of the other party and remaining were mine. He said he has no more items with him. Even kuldeep singh talked to him regarding the missing items and the driver denied saying he has received a total of only 12 items. The driver then called his owner and said the same thing. Kuldeep singh and the driver had some heated conversation and all of it took places right in front of me. The driver left without any receiving from my end and was furious from kuldeep’s word. The very next moment, i contacted the person who came at my location in delhi to collect my items (Contact number - [protected]) about the missing items and he said he would confirm the same and also check his warehouse by next morning and then made excuses the other day when asked about the same.

Next day, while unpacking the goods, most of my books were in a bad shape and my fan, worth rs. 2, 000 went missing from the cardboard box it was packed in, which was all torn up from two places; about which i had already informed kuldeep singh the evening i got my goods. I had no choice but to sell those books as scrap and now is forced to buy new ones.

Upon asking him about my television and other items (Total damage worth rs. 28, 000), he said that he will be checking in his warehouse and then tell me. On calling him to know the status of my goods, he always said that he will find it soon and always said that there are still a few places left to check, he will be confirming with the driver and all such excuses.

Finally on 29th of august (16 days after my goods arrived), he said he will be paying upon confirming the amount of the goods declared. Since the bill of the television was in its box itself, i provided him the warranty card and the shop’s name from where i bought it and told him the total amount of my goods lost due to his and his men’s negligence. I called to confirm the status of repayment and every time he made excuses that he has not checked with the shop, he forgot and all. I called him last on 17th september, 2018 to get a final confirmation from his side whether he will be paying for the items lost/stolen by him or not. He was again busy making excuses; so i asked him to confirm me whether he will be paying or not for the goods by next morning and i heard from him on 29th september, 2018 where he asked me for my account details. After sending the details, i gave him a final deadline till 1st october, 2018 and have not heard anything from him. Then he called me on 19th october, 2018 and was again busy making excuses and said that he would again be calling later that evening or the next day to confirm payment status but have not heard anything from him after that. I don’t think any useful purpose will be served waiting any further.

It has been over two months since i gave him the assignment to move my goods and been cheated since day one. He is using the name of safexpress, a well-known brand in this business and is cheating people by talking sweet and making them believe that he owns the real safexpress. He talked to me saying he is a logistic company but in reality, is a fraud who just knows all the excuses there are. The driver’s word came to me as a shock when he said that his company was contacted to deliver my goods at a much cheaper rate that too on 9th of august, 2018; whereas my goods were picked from my delhi location on 15th of july, 2018 by kuldeep singh’s men. Even the driver was shocked to hear the pick-up date and the amount i paid for it. I had been cheated all this time by someone who would have cheated so many and would still be cheating many. I am still not sure whether my goods are lost or are stolen by kuldeep singh.

I was there in delhi as a student and have just graduated from university of delhi from bachelor’s in arts with major in economics and decided to return home to take a break and help my father in his business. Our work here in patna is clean and we don’t like to cheat our customers as we believe in making customers and customer satisfaction. All this money lost is my father’s hard earned money which was taken away by a fraudster who claimed to be the owner of a major logistics company.

I hereby request you to look into this matter and help me recover my money back as soon as possible and also save many others who could be cheated by him.
