Sub: Rain water overflowing in park in front & east side of D Block, Bhim Nagri, SDA & flooding my house (Flat no. D2) following every occasion when there is rain.
Dear Sir,
I am a senior citizen, retired as Chief, Neurosciences Centre, from AIIMS, Delhi after dedicated service at the Institute & to public at large for 42years. I settled in the D2 (DDA) flat, Bhim Nagri, SDA in August 2016.
Since last three years there is water collection & stagnation in the park in front of D Block, Bhim Nagri, SDA, following every occasion of moderately heavy rain like on 21.8.2021. The collected water, upto 1½ feet deep which flows into the lane in front & my front yard & enters my house! Two years ago it completely flooded all the rooms depositing lot of muck in the house! This D block floor is lower in level than the park in front. I believe some years ago soil was added to the top layer of the park which raised it’s level. But the maintenance of the park by SDMC is poor.
I therefore request your good office to advise concerned officials to create adequate drainage for the flooding water in the park by providing outlets, perhaps to the adjoining nala in the adjacent C2 bock boundary wall? The drains inside the colony overflow & water backs-up to our sewer line & into our toilets, in the event of such rain, since the entire colony is at a lower level than adjoining colonies & roads.
Also kindly instruct to construct a cemented hump at the entrance of the park from the front lane of D2 block to stop the water from the park spilling over to the lane & subsequently my house.
Shall be very obliged for your very kind attention to this contingent problem & thanking you,
Sincerely,
(Dr. N.K.Mishra)
Former HOD, Neuroradiology &
Chief, Neurosciences Centre, AIIMS
