Website: shine.com

I have been a registered member of the job portal "shine.com" since around past 2 years. I didnot receive any convincing job oppportunity within that duration.
A couple of days ago i received a call regarding paid services by the same job portal.Though i donot believe in paying money for such services, i availed the service just because i was not satisfied with my current job. After payment i was informed that my profile would be highlighted and i would have an improved resume.Since i am working currently and need to switch my job ASAP i thought that the services provided to me would be quick enough. Today i received a call from one of the executives stating that if i pay an additional amount of 6000 i would have a guaranteed job.I have already paid an amount of around 3300 to the company.I was completely furious at the executive and straight away asked him that what was the use of anyone registering on their job portal if one has to pay around 10000 to get a "certified job". I need an answer as i am also one of the millions of job seekers who cannot go door to door in search of a new job despite having a degree. This is a simple technique of fooling candidates and making money out of the same. How could an unemployed individual pay such an amount just to "buy" a job when he/she doesn't have any referrals and are all by their self searching for a job?????Is it a joke for you people???? I need an answer to my question as well as i need to know how can i redeem my money paid.

    Beware of Fraudsters...

    Dear Job Seekers

    Greetings from Shine.com!

Shine.com is a platform which brings the recruiters and job seekers together.

Please note that we do not charge money from any candidate/job seeker for an interview nor do we guarantee any job. We are neither a recruitment firm nor a consultant or recruitment partner of any employer. Shine.com is a platform which is used by consultants, companies and recruiters to find the right match for an opening.

We have been trying hard to discourage any fraudulent mails, sms and calls which demand money for a guaranteed placement or interview in the name of Shine.com. Regrettably, on certain occasions, false job offers do get sent via email to illegitimately collect personal information (like bank details, credit card details) and/or money from innocent job seekers.

Shine.com is not responsible for, and expressly disclaims all liability for, any such communication via email, sms or phone call by a frivolous source claiming to have got the contact details of the person concerned through or representing Shine.com. Please report at [protected]@shine.com if you come across any such fraudulent communication.

How to check if an email is a fraud/scam:
    1. Check the website of the company: Search on Yahoo or Google to see if the company has a genuine website. If the mail asks for your personal information such as bank details, credit card numbers
    2. If the mailer demands money for any employment/recruitment related purpose such as immigration and visa processing, travel etc.
    3. If the mail offers you a job you have never applied for
    4. If the mailer has used free email IDs to contact you or as 'reply to' email IDs. For example, if you get a job offer from ABC Auto Company, and their email ID is [protected]@gmail.com or [protected]@hotmail.com then it is most probably a fake company. Real companies use their own domain name on their email and do not use free email providers.
    5. If people have reported against the consultant/employer for scams earlier
    6. If the mail offers a job without any interview
    7. If the mail mentions that Shine.com is their partner, consultant or employment partner

Job seekers are advised to check for the above points & not to indulge in any monetary engagement with such sources in the name of a job offer.

    Regards
    Shine.com

      Hi,

This is with reference to a call from Shine.com from the # +[protected] who started he call very rudely.

He was trying to sell some service and when I was trying to tell him something that I will not pay and rather use my own connects, got in a threatening mode asking me why I have my profile on Shine.

I am a senior manager with 17 years and this is the first time I have heard something like this from a professional hiring firm.

I need to know what action will be taken as my next step will be to take appropriate steps. Social media will definitely be one of them.

      Regards,
      Sanjib

please ref my complaint dt. 9.5.2016 and comments on 18.5.2016 but there is no use. Even after lapse of 12 days the concerned person Mr Amit Saxena was not done any service to me and not received any phone call from him regarding job. Mr Saxena not stick on his words to arrange a interview nor refund the amount which was paid by me. I do not have any confidence and again he is asking money. This is not correct way of working. I think this is a fraud web site. If the amount was not settled I will call again and again. I am again compliant against Mr Amit Saxena till settle my amount.

              Dear Lokesh,

              Greetings from shine career plus.

With reference to your concern, to get your money back we would suggest you to please call your bank customer care and ask for a charge back for your all transaction, as you have made all the payment by net banking.

These days a lot of fake recruiters are calling the candidates using the name of reputed job portals and extract heavy money from them. We will like to clarify that the money paid by you is not to Shine.com and is not linked with any such recruiter or consultants. Please note that Shine.com is not responsible for, and expressly disclaims all liability for any such communication via email, sms or phone call by a frivolous source claiming to have got the contact details of the concerned person through or representing Shine.com. I totally disagree with you that you are not aware of such fraudsters. I myself has my own experience with shine.com. I lost Rs.20, 000/-. I have only one question - you are offering different courses via online through your portal. Whenever I utilize paid services of shine.com, you give 10% discount on the course material. If the person who is demanding cash for paid services is not shine.com, then why do you give 10% discount on course material. There is no doubt that such cash demanding happens only in connivance with shine.com. There is nothing going to happen by making such complaints in any forums. We have to be vigilant. As long as we poor people believe in them, there will always be cheaters like shine.com.
This website is also not safe for me..
Again those frauds gave a call from [protected].
they mentioned they were from shine.com to resolve my issue and refund my amount.and they asked the money for service charge to refund my amount .how can I believe this number from shine.com.
I refused to pay that amount and that is not genuine number and its kind of scam..
OMG ..I have given a hand written complaint in Tirupati as well in Vizag also..

Ideally, your executive should have explained the complete package rather than duping and cheating customers at a later stage.

This is entirely unethical and fraud.

This is to bring it to your notice that I was recently charged havily when I registered for Supply chain Management course (3 month). In the auto generated mail it was clearly mentioned that the course fee is Rs. 8165 and I registered by paying the amount. (Transaction Number:[protected].

Later they told that I shall get a verification call. I got the verification call. But I was surprised to hear that Rs. 9398 (Transaction Number:[protected] had to be paid for verification purpose. I paid this amount as well.

Now I don't understand the unethical behavior of shine.com to charge customers without any reason. Why was I charged for verification purpose. There is no point of this charge. Why was the verification necessary for certification purpose. They told that verification was necessary for certification purpose which was baseless.

I would like to have my Rs. 9398 refunded within a weak or I'll have to take legal actions.
