We have purchased Skoda Kylaq Signature, Petrol, Manual variant (AS01GN9917) on 29.12.2025 from Apunar Skoda Showroom at Khanapara, Guwahati and has been driving it only on highways. We take really great care of our car. On Saturday, 07.03.2026 while I was travelling with my family from Guwahati to Nagaon in Assam, the gears suddenly stopped functionting at around 6:30PM and was about to had a major accident on the highway because of it, provided I had not used my presence of mind. I put the emergency lights on and somehow stopped the car on the roadside. I immediately called the concerned Skoda Manager who sold us this model. He shared a technician number whom we contacted immediately and shared our experience. He over WhatsApp video suggested to shut the engine for 15 mins and try again to change the gears as they are not functioning while inserting the car key and igniting the engine but otherwise changing well if key is not inserted. Later, while the problem does not got resolved we contacted the Sales Manager and a Service Manager and they both shared RSA contact details. After contacting the RSA, we were informed that our vehicle will be towed within 120mins. Just imagine, my family was stranded on a roadside on a highway which was almost isolated. By around 08:45PM our vehicle got towed finally. The vehicle which is only 2 months & 8 days old and covered only 2007KM till that day, showing this type of problems is simply unacceptable. We purchased Skoda thinking it will have great build quality and superior riding experience, however, we had to face such a painful experience and mental trauma. May be they have handed us a vehicle with faulty parts. Today, on Monday 09.03.2027 I was finally contacted by the Service Advisor and the first thing he said was that the Clutch Set has stopped functioning and needs to be replaced which will cost us around Rs.15000/- from our own pocket as the same will neither be covered under Warranty nor Insurance. The reason he assumed for the malfunction is driving prolonged in half-clutch condition which is simply not acceptable as I told him clearly that I have been driving cars for more than a decade and I do not have the habit of driving in half-clutch, plus my previous car was also having Turbo Engine, so, I know well how to drive this car. This type of customer service, malfunctioning of parts that too on a two months old car from Skoda is simply not acceptable and we need full cooperation and compensation against the same from Skoda India.
