Skoda India — tampering my claim document, not ra ising a supplement invoice and charging me parking charges for the mistakes dealership has committed.

It is with utmost despair i am writing to you of all the atrocities i have faced from one of your dealers, aryaveer skoda.

Being a proud owner of skoda cars in the past i had decided to get myself and my family the utmost luxury and top of the line skoda superb, l&t variant. I had purchased this car on 24/05/2018 from a local dealer (Channel motors) in haldwani, uttrakhand.

On 31/12/2019 my car met with an accident in delhi. With the 24*7 road side assistance feature i was able to get my car to the nearest dealer, aryaveer skoda. After completing all the insurance formalities i was assured that my car will be ready in no time and that i can drive my car the way it was before. Since my insurance policy was not a cashless one and the amount for the repair of my car was also huge i was provided with a satisfaction from the dealer that the bill for the same will be generated after repairing the car and that the same will be forwarded to the insurance company for the claim money to be credited in my bank account. With that money i could come and collect my car from the dealer. However plain and simple it sounds it became a nightmare for me when the world met with a catastrophe, the covid-19 pandemic.

In this time of crises my insurance policy also got expired and renewed by the same insurance company, united insurance as my claim had still not been settled. There wasn’t much communication from any end as the virus had taken over everything, literally everything.

Three months of the lockdown had passed and still no sign of my money or of any communication from either end. During that time i learned that my mother was diagnosed with cancer and we had to rush for her treatment in these troubled times. It became difficult for me to coordinate with anyone.in june when i got a little bit of time away from the hospital visits, i learned from the insurance surveyor that my claim document had been tampered with. The time and place of the accident had been tampered with and that the claim for the same had been delayed due to that. I was very furious to know that because i clearly remembered filling the details in the claims form myself and signing it too. The copy of the same is with me for future reference.
After being in constant touch with the insurance people and repeatedly calling them back and forth for my claim money they finally credited the money on 06/08/2020 to my bank account which was ₹3, 49, 999 (Three lakh forty nine thousand nine hundered and ninety nine only). Because i am not a resident of delhi i went to the dealership on the 19/08/2020 only to know this from them that they have committed a mistake by not raising a supplement invoice to the insurance company. The invoice dealership raised was of ₹4, 45, 262 (Four lakh forty five thousand two hundred and sixty two only) and the amount i received was ₹3, 49, 999. There were 21 (Twenty one) spare parts items that were missing in the estimated bill but were on the actual bill and no supplement was raised from the dealership side to the insurance company and also there were 16 (Sixteen) spare parts items that were missing in the actual bill but were on the estimated bill. Due to these discrepancies of the skoda dealership (Aryaveer skoda) the insurance company not only took months and months to delay my car claim but also credited the amount in accordance with the estimated bill that was raised initially.
The body shop manager, mr sandeep sethi owing to the mistake he committed asked me for three days time to consult with his superiors when i went to aryaveer skoda dealership on 19/08/2020. It has been 15 days since my visit to the dealership and no communication has been made to rectify their mistake and give me back my car which is at their workshop from the past eight months now and counting.

During these times of crises both financially and personally i’ve managed to pay my car premiums on time having to only know that i am paying for a car that is sitting at some dealers workshop since eight months and counting. You tell me who is bearing the interest and depreciation for the car that he’s not even driving?
It pains me to write this to you that in the light of all that has happened in these past eight months i sincerely request you to look into my matter with utmost priority and solve my problem by handing me back my car in the newest condition and by taking the money for the same that has been given by the insurance company, ₹3, 49, 999.
I sincerely am looking forward for nothing but a satisfaction and assurance that i will have my car soon and that i don’t have to pay anything extra for the mistakes done at the dealership end. I do feel the urge to ask for a compensation as well but because i’ve been a loyal customer of skoda over the past decade i hope my complaint will be adhered to and be resolved at the earliest.

After sending this formal complaint to skoda and the dealership the gm, mr yogesh gupta of aryaveer skoda assured me to resolve the matter within the next day after i spoke to him on 7/09/2020 but it’s been almost a week that they are just asking for time and more time and i am paying premium on my car every month and so on without having to drive it.

I have no words left to describe my feelings but the pain and despair i am feeling has literally worsened. Not only aryaveer skoda is not giving my car back but is asking for full payment, ₹4, 42, 262 and not ₹3, 49, 999 which i got from the insurance company due to the mistakes at their end. On top of this they are asking for parking charges as they are the ones because of whom my claim was settled eight months late. I am sickened by this behaviour of theirs and they have left me no choice but to go public and social on them and skoda.
I did report skoda of all the atrocities i had to face at this dealership and you didn’t do anything about it or took it very lightly. Now they (Aryaveer skoda) have crossed their boundaries. I never thought owning a skoda car would be such a pathetic experience. I condemn this behaviour of theirs and not going to comply with them at all.
