Sleepwell — regarding changing mattress

Respected sir,

We have purchase sleep well mattress of thickness 4.5inch on[protected] but as per our bed requirement we need thickness of about 5inch.
It is requested to please change it with more thickness. It is almost 2 days the purchase was made. Please do needful.

Very pathertic warranty conditions. Don't buy any of the mattresses, . You are financing your own mattresses. No gurantee and warranty on any product
I have bought the mattresses in Jan17 and they all have lost strenght and have flattened out. I logged the complaint and the reply i got is enclosed. In my opinion, Sleepwell has introduced this scheme of making money through this “ retirement Scheme”. This means that now the purchase cost is Rs. 40000/-., i will have to shell out again Rs. 22000 odd and once again, the matttress will go out in 2 years and again i have to shell may be again 30000 ( due to price increase).

So, question remain, where is the warranty?

This means on a set of mattresses, i have to pay, effectively, Rs. 30000+22000+30000=82000 over a six year period. What type of marketing is this and the consumer confidence.

I am not only disturbed by the gesture of the company, and therefore, will have to approach the same as there is no product warranty and the customer is actually buying a self financing scheme for mattresses.

The reply from the company is enclosed. Please do not buy the mattresses as you are financing your own product. Company does not give any guarantee/warantee. It is only one year warranty.

Please call their representative every month during the first year to ensure that they are working . The product will be flattened just after first year and they you will regret.

In reference to the trailing mail, we would like to inform you that our representative visited your residence and inspected the alleged defective mattress and offered you the prorata compensation on the basis of terms of warranty.

As per terms of warranty card of the alleged mattress i.e. Sleepwell Elegence :

a) Mattress shall be replaced if any manufacturing defect arise within 1 year of its purchase. (Replacement warranty-1 year)
b) Prorata value settlement voucher shall be provided, if any defect arises after 1 year of its purchase till 5 years. ( Prorata warranty - 4 years)

You have purchased mattress on 25-Jan-17 and logged a complaint on 22-May-19, Vide complaint no. 121147. As per warranty settlement value mentioned on the warranty card is Rs. 18840.

Calculated as under.

Cost of mattress = Rs 31400/-
Period Expired = 02 year
Period left for prorata = 03 years
Amount which can be adjusted in your next purchased = 31400*60/100 = Rs.18840/- (60%WSV)
