We have been put through lot of misery and anxious moments, when we opted for glimpses of east europe tour conducted by sotc, recently. Despite booking and paying for the tour well in advance (& repeated requests from us) they did not file the visa application till the last minute. As a consequence we were running around for my wife's visa till the last moment. These stressful moments are entirely due to the laidback approach of their sales and visa application teams in bangalore.
Their bangalore office employees (Barring one deepti) lack the sense o[censored]rgency required and carry a huge attitude on their shoulders. Their senior managers do not respond to your complaints and are very arrogant. Sotc does not have proper sops to make your holiday planning stress-free.
On the day of our journey instead of preparing for the tour we were running from pillar to post to make last minute adjustments to our airticket and had to incur a loss of rs.12, 860 on account of the last minute changes. Finally we received the visa at 4 p. M on the day of travel but were shocked to learn that the duration of stay allowed was shortened by the visa authorities because of submission of incorrect details of stay mentioned by the sotc team, despite providing all our details in advance. Our vacation spirit was marred before even the tour was started. With the result we lost out 2 days of site seeing in the beautiful innsbruck, salzburg etc (Out of 8 days) and felt really cheated and short changed by sotc when we had to return early to catch the flight. While the tour manager was good and empathetic the hotel accommodation is mediocre in all cities. The dinner is usually served in dingy indian restaurants and all o[censored]s were herded like sheeps to the basement or one corner of these places. The food is too basic and insipid as sotc bargains hard with these restaurants while negotiating.
Overall i can summarise by saying that if you want to enjoy your tour one should avoid such tour operators as sotc as they have grown very big, very poorly planned, show little empathy with the customers and overcharge you for each and every extra services. Was this information helpful? |
