South Bengal State Transport Corporation [SBSTC] Complaints & Reviews

I work in a Software company in Kolkata, today, Oct 17th, I caught the SBSTC bus in Beliatore which departed from Bankura at 1.10pm. I asked the bus conductor for a sit as I had to come karunamoyee. The conductor ask me to in 13th number sit and took 140/- for fare. I asked is the fare 140/-? he replied YES I sais OK. Now when the bus arrived to Durgapur the conductor says that I have to sit in 12 number sit. When I asked why, he replied that he says "AMI BOLECHILAM EKHON 13 NUMBER SIT E BOSO " sit in sit no. 13 for the time being. When I was talking with the conductor, one passenger who sit on the sit number 10, supported the conducted and abusing me, THE CONDUCTOR SUPPORTED HIM. The person HIT ME, THE CONDUCTED ALSO SUPPORTED HIM. The conductor took my teacket and refund 120/- and asked me to leave the bus before Bankura more in durgapur. I am travelling since last 3 years in Bankura Karunamoyee SBSTC. The conductor named Akbar Khan along with Pravat knows me very well I never had any fight or any misbehave with neither any passengers nor with the conductor for a single time. But this one is pathetic. Please look into this matter ASAP. Is this your service???? How a conductor says to leave the bus before bus stand (Durgapur) though he took 20/- for Beliatore to Durgapur ? how a conductor can support a passenger who hit another passenger? Bus from Dharmatala to Burdwan dated 10th March 2014 4:30 PM met with an accident due to driver's carelessness and also rash driving. My parents along with other passengers are severely injured. Drivers such as this should be punished and compensation should be given to all the injured passengers with immediate action. Also i would be complaining against this in local police station.

Sir, Yesterday on 29th dec 2013 I boarded a bus wth my 3 yr old daughter at Dubrajpur WB 39 A 0616 suri to purulia to Durgapur at 10 am. As the bus was very crowded and there was no seat I sat down in the staff seat for a while. Immediately the conductor shouted at me saying dont even think of sitting comfortably leave the seat immediately but there was hardly any place to stand .when the conductor returned I shifted to the corner, the conductor purposefully spread his legs so that I cant sit though my daugher was in my lap. I later after 20 mins shifted to another seat. The whole journey of rest 1 hr he let other fellow passengers to sit maintaining his space.when I asked the reason for his behaviour he said he can allow passengers but not women. I told him I will complain he said he doesnt fear anybody and not to give any lecture. Who has given him the right to speak and behave with a woman in such a demeaning way? What about humanity? He is a public servant he should help passengers but he was behaving as if he owns the bus.He didnt disclose his name. Please help me in teaching this man a lesson so that he respects women. Today (on 18.02.13) my sister and my niece was waiting today at Baguiati stoppage to get the sbstc bus of 10 a.m from Karunamoyee to Saltlake. After waiting a long time a sbstc bus of Burdwan came at 10.30 a.m. After confirming from the person who sells tickets at Baguiati counter my sister and niece got into the bus. By that time the conducter of of that bus didn't reply to queries of the passengers of Baguiati stand. At Airport stand when some passengers got into the bus by that time the conducter informed them that the it was not 10a.m scheduled bus,rather it was 9 a.m scheduled bus. At that very moment when the passengers of Baguiati and Airport stand who purchased tickets of 10 a.m bus asked the conducter why he had not informed the passengers beforehand despite repeated queries by that time the conducter behaved very rudely, used slang and abusive languages and pushed few ladies passengers and children from behind.
Urgent strict and drastic action must be taken against the hooliganism and vandalism of that conducter of sbstc bus of 9 a.m from karunamoyee to Burdwan. I will definitely wt for certain time ,after that I will be compelled to take the help of law and will be compelled to bring this issue before media along with the print-out of this e-mail.

I am daily passenger of dubrajpur to suri,on 1st Dec 2012 SBSTC bus which daily travel Digha to Suri and halt at Dubrajpur.On 1st Dec 2012 the bus start for move to dubrajpur at 7:00 pm and this is the last bus for dubrajpur, i request to the conductor for take me for dubrajpur but he don't take me and pull me from the bus,on that day the bus no is 5207.please check for conductor behavior

This is to keep you informed that on 29th June, I was travelling from Karunamoyee to Durgapur by a SBSTC bus (Karunamoyee departure time: 5 PM to Durgapur) with a ticket (Ticket No: 016109; seat no: 23) ) booked on 28th morning from Baguiati counter. Once I got in to the bus at 5:20 PM on 29th June at Baguiati, surprisingly I saw that 1 more passenger with the same seat number sitting there. I approached the bus conductor to check & rectify the same. The conductor then said that he will not do anything. He told me that the ticket is not valid and if I am willing to go to Durgapur with the same bus then I have to buy a ticket from him & he will not provide any seat as there is no seat vacant. I again approached the conductor that few days back I met with an accident & having leg injury; hence I can not stand for 3 hours and go. He misbehaved & said that then you have to get down. I called up the authority at Karunamoyee counter on his mobile no [protected], unfortunately he said the same thing to get down or take a new ticket & travel.

In this scenerio, I did not have any other option to travel the entire journey without any seat alloted. After 3 & half hours when I reached home, I was feeling so dam pain that I had to take pills after pills.

If this is the customer service we receive from government organisation, then the general public do not have any other options other than to suffer.

Request you to take erios action to stop such frauds.

SBSTC is one of the transport corporation in Bengal which is used by many office workers and college students.I am a corporate worker and frequently use SBSTC buses (Midnapore Depo to kolkata).

SBSTC organisation in midnapore is least bothered about their timing and they frequently cancel the buses if any conductor or the driver has not arrived in time.As today only, they canceled the first card at 5:10 am to kolkata and the second card left the depo 10 min earlier which was scheduled at 5:50 am.
They also change the route frequently so to avoid chaos and problem they will face as the first card has been canceled. This directly brings the reliability of SBSTC operations into serious question.

This unmanaged service is creating serious problem to many commuters bacause even slight deviation in bus timings cause irreparable loss and hamper subsequently planned schedules. So Urgent & strict action should be taken against it.
