Spice Jet Airlines — luggage locks were broken and theft from inside the bag

I have taken flight SG052 from Dubai to pune on 3/4/2019 from Dubai airport and arrived at pune airport on 4/4/2019 at 4:40 am.

While putting my check in baggage at dubai airport, i have put a lock and plastic tie lock as well on my bag. But to my surprise when my check in baggage arrived at belt no1 on pune airport its lock was broken and the plastic tie lock was also absent. i have raised my concerns with the available spice jet staff ( Amit ) regarding the same, he told me to open and check the baggage.

The horror what i received after opening my bag is that my Apple watch, air pods and gift ( perfumes) were stolen from the bag and also all the clothes and other things were tossed and scrambled inside my Bag.

There was no tag by any authority about opening and scanning my baggage. when i have asked about the explanation from the Spice jet staff ( Mamta / Amit ) i receive a mundane response that we don't know Sir how this can happen.

They were trying to convince me in the most unprofessional manner that locks can be broken while loading and unloading of baggage and things may have fallen down. This is complete nonsense.

How theft can happen from the most secure place, where there are CCTV and other security measure are on high alert and this is a grave mistake from full Spice Jet Management.

Its a serious offence which has been committed when my luggage was in custody and surveillance of Spice Jet management.

I seek full refund / replacement of my things lost in the act of theft committed in custody of Spice Jet.

I have raised complaint ( Complaint number 42279 ) at the airport mentioning my contact number and email id . its been 16 hrs since i have raised the complaint with the airline and there is no communication so far.

Awaiting for the response within next 24 hrs. failure to that ill further escalate this matter to the highest available authorities.

Based on your explanations, the case has to be handled as follows.

The duty of the Spece Jet manager Pune airport is to deliver the decision:-
- either to the police office of Pune (Lohagaon) for the investigation of the possisbe theft at the area, whih governed by the Pune Municipal Corporation,
by filing the "theft" in police F.I.R.,
within 3 days following the receipt of your complaint,
or
- to deliver your items to "your "door within 21 days, following the receipt of your complaint.

If it is not done in time, the passenger can claim the compensation via the district court of Pune (India) or of Dubai (UAE).

It is advasable to keep e-ticket, boarding pass, bag tad, your own application regarding theft till the finan resoluton, but at least 1 year.

You can hire a lawyer or a legal professional for the representation of the case, if you consider lack of the sufficient knowledge in the complaing procedure.
