I am writing this email with a great stress and seeking compensation. 1. I have booked flight SG161 for 2 travelers on 12-Dec for flight dated 14-Dec (sector Delhi to hyd )in Spice Jet and same day I did web-checkin. 2. I got SMS on 13-Dec from Spice jet that flight is cancelled. 3. As soon as I got notification that the said Spice jet flight has been cancelled, I called the Spice jet customer care seeking alternate flight. Unfortunately there was no alternate (not stop flight ) available per Spice Jet customer care agent which he could offer . 4. Due to above as per advise from customer care team of Spice Jet, I cancelled flight with full refund of fare and also claimed for compensation as I had to bear loss for booking another flight which costed 3 times more. This i had to claim as I had book Air India flight for 14-Dec which costed me 3 times more than Spice Jet. I have attached cost of Air India flight. 4. When I wrote email to Spice Jet customer relations as per advise from customer care team of Spice Jet, I got response (attached) stating they will not compensate for the loss. Pls help me to get my, oss compensated. Airlines cannot cancel flight and expect customer to buy a ticked with other airlines at a higher cost. They need to pay the difference.
