I purchased a 2021 Hyundai Verna from Spinny on 17 June 2026. Within first 26 days, the car spent 8–10 days in the workshop due to multiple issues:
1) Battery/starting failure – car wouldn’t start and required roadside assistance for a jump start within 6 days of delivery.
2) Trunk release failure – external button stopped working; trunk could only be opened through the cabin lever.
3) Trunk sensor fault – “trunk open” warning remained on the instrument cluster even when the boot was closed.
4) ORVM fold/unfold switch failure.
5) Driver-side central locking switch failure.
6) Unsettled challans associated with the vehicle.
7) Previous FASTag was not deactivated.
Spinny responded and attempted to resolve the issues, but the trunk problem has resurfaced. The external release button has failed again, and the trunk-open warning remains illuminated despite the boot being properly closed. This suggests the earlier fix was only temporary.
Infact in resolving the existing issues, Spinny has given me another issue as a gift. Now whenever it rains, the trunk is now full of water because Spiiny mechanic didnt even care to adjust the rubber properly, might be he was thinking that I am living in a desert and might need some water to be stored.
I also discovered a serious discrepancy regarding the car’s paintwork. Spinny’s documents indicate that only a couple of parts/panels were repainted. However, an inspection at an authorized Hyundai service center indicated that almost all body panels had been repainted. I am attaching the relevant Spinny document for reference where it is mentioned that only the right fender panel is repainted.
This experience has seriously affected my confidence in Spinny’s inspection, certification and vehicle-disclosure process.
My advice to prospective used-car buyers: Please do not rely solely on the dealer’s inspection report. Take an independent mechanic or experienced automotive professional with you and get the car thoroughly inspected, including its electrical systems, body panels, paintwork, accident/repair history and documentation, person can independently verify what you're being told
Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend comparing Spinny with other options such as CARS24, FirstChoice or other reputable dealers before making a purchase else you will be spending more time coordinating repairs rather than driving the car just like myself.
