One of the most common bank for the common people is SBI and now it charges Minimum Rs. 50/- for non home branch cash deposits. and Service Tax of Rs. 7.5/- is also imposed. While i applied for the credit card, i was explained that i can withdraw cash from atm and use it to pay for shopping and and needn't pay any extra fee/charges/interest on the same, provided i have paid the same within 30 days of the generation of the statement. In the sbi branch of barasat one can not deposit cash through cash counters in the bank worth amount less than rs 50000. If you have less amount of money you will be asked by the bank officials to go the cash less deposit machine. Nut there for every transaction bank will charge rs 25. So it is better to assume that state bank of india is not available for monetary transaction. Such worst measures by the banking authority should be condemned....
