We took our little one to the hospital early morning as she was not able to breath due to a infected throat (Courp) which normally in other hospitals/doctors will give one round of antibiotics + nebulisation for the inflammation to away. But the duty doctor made us shift to the nicu for no reason.
After couple of hours in nicu we got shifted to gen ward, as were given antibiotics and nebulization for a day. Which we would have done at home as well.
Then came the fun part. The bill they charged us for each nebulization 250 we took 8 nebulization so that was 2000. The charge of the machine itself is 1.8k. 2 hours in nicu was charged 5, 500 and a lot of charges un heard of in hospitals. Medicines which were not supplied /used were charged. On arguing with one of the nurses she lost it and told me to complain.
Finally when we asked for the remaining money we were told to come back after couple of days as the money which was available was already deposited (This is 11 am in the morning) no institution does this.
The best part was many of the nurses who attended us knew the bluff the junior doctors created and were complaining about the gross medical misconduct that has been happening here.
All i can say is the main pediatrician is a really good doctor, but due this incident we are never going to come here. We feel cheated and disappointment. Was this information helpful? |
